Meet your meat

  1. Made me kinda hungry...

Don't preach your bullshit, that wasn't even a particularily convincing anti-meat video
Peta is tax exempt terrorism and very hypocritical. They preach against euthinising (sp?) animals but they do they that at their headquarters. They rail against animal testing for drugs but one of the head people uses insulin for Christ sake!

  2. im pretty fucking hungry now
people for the eating of tasty animals

  3. Yea i didnt watch that but ive seen similar videos(im assuming). yea they really didnt make not want to eat meat. but im also a big hunter so i might see it differently then some. i think im gonna go eat some meat right now.

  4. First off Buzzard- was I preaching? Did I follow the link with my own personal thoughts and opinion trying to encourage people to change?

Cause I didn't see any preaching- just a link to a movie.

Stoned Nate- I still would never hunt myself, but that is a lot more respectable than factory farms.

    Anyways-

Eat whatever you want- I'm just pointing out that we all LOVE to bitch and moan about how society is all fucked up- but this is ok (factory farming animals and killing them which also leads to a whole shitload of enviormental problems)

But I apologize GrassCity, let me go start a thread about 9/11 or how much of an idiot Bush is- worrying about that shit will accomplish something.

  5. I just don't like people preaching about not eating animals. They were made for us to eat, across many thousands of years we have done nothing but eat animals, it's basically genetically engineered in us to eat them. Fishes with omega fatty acids that are very good for us , do you think that happened by coincidence? no they were made to keep us healthy, other animals were also made to keep us healthy, and naturally fit

you can enjoy your choice to not eat animals, but I just ask for you not to try and spread it on others :/

  6. This video was included on the Morrissey "Who Put the M in Manchester" dvd. While i think PETA is full of shit i agree some people need to see how meat is processed. Personally i stopped eating meat and chicken and fast food just because i need to lose weight.

  7. this is whats wrong with many peoples views-

Animals were not put here for us- Rather we are here on this earth together and must co exist, not produce these animals to eat.

And FYI when man was evolving on this earth- experts agree our primary diet was infact vegeterian, supplemented only through means of scavenging.

It is thought that man had to forget his vegetable eating ways because of extreme climate changes happening to the earth at the time. Due to the climate changes man then began his hunting, following the animals as a means of survival.

Luckily modern man does not need to follow animals around to kill them or a lot of people would be fucked- so don't argue your "mans survival skills tell us to eat meat" (or genetically engineered as you put it) cause obviously it's not a survival instinct. Human diets in modern man is infact based on education- you were educated as a young human on foods to eat and not eat and a means of survival based on those foods (when to eat, how often, cooking/preperation, etc).

EDIT:: You think early man was milking cows? Why do we drink cows milk? Plenty of other alternatives, and why are we the only species that drinks milk after we mature?

  8. You posted a preachy video and so you are preachy by proxy.

    Oh bullcrap cheebaa.

Evolution: From the supposed beggining of man, Homo Habilis, we have eaten meat. Albeit HH wasn't a great hunter most theories believe he ate scavenged meat for the most part and some vegetables. From Homo Ergaster on we have hunted.
Jewish and Christian beleifs: people have always eaten meat and given animals to God. Animals are subserviant to us because we were made in his image and they are here to nourish us, provide for us, serve us, and glorify god (at least in the old testament).
Muslim: I assume it's the same as above, I don't know though.

Cultures all over the world have been eating meat for a very long time. Our dental structures are for meat and meat sustains us.
We can live without meat, but we have a primal urge to eat meat so we do.

And factory farms do suck. Peter Singer's Animal Liberation (an old book at the start of the animal rights movement) detailed that very clearly to me. But it is economically efficiant. But guess what? Those animals would not be alive anyways if it wasn't for FF. In fact, those animals arn't even sentient beings!
I for one, though this may sound heartless to some, couldn't care less about them.

For the record I don't eat pork because it tastes disgusting to me and I try to limit my meat and fowl intake because I'm a lil' bit heavy.

  9. And so what if we have milk? It's healthy and useful. Just because other animals arn't smart enough to procure milk doesn't mean we have to forgo it.

  10. Animals eat animals thats nature. People don't point out how nasty and disturbing other wild animals eating the dead decaying flesh of another.

w/e The treatment of some animals is terrible, but PETA shows the most extreme case of the few in America.

I love meat and I won't give it up. I love my veggies just as much as my meat. So I got the best of both worlds:p sucks for u veggies you don't know what u are missing out on:p

  11. I love a good steak way too much to give it up.

  12. So humans are meant to eat meat huh-

Do we have claws or talons able to take down animals (no we had to develop our brain before we started hunting because we needed tools and the capacity to outsmart other animals)? Or a fierce bite to take down prey? How come out of all the meat eaters our intestines are so much longer? <-if you didn't know about this, animals that eat meat have shorter digestive tract because meat turns rancid in your bowls (can you say colon cancer)..... And infact our teeth are not designed to eat meat- our jaws lack the grinding movement that carnivoirs can do to chew/shred there meat.

And you know what- we are talking about two different scenerios anyways- this was a primitive man who- did not have the education to know what can sustain him.

As for all your holy nonsense there- I won't even get into people who say there holy but have no problem with how there dinner was treated prior to consuming. And anyways this is nothing to do with religion.

Anyways man, I know people are still going to eat meat- but if people would get off the idea that "humans are top of the food chain" bullshit and that animals are here for us to eat (which again is bullshit) this world would be a much better place.

Raising livestock causes so many negative impacts to the earth- but whatever, our generation will not suffer all to much, be selfish- eat your meat, contribute to how fucked up this planet is getting and let the next generations suffer.

  13. we wern't meant to eat meat? eating meat caused a lot of good inventions, not to mention it wasnt that hard to sneak up on an animal and break its neck and then eat it, that didnt require many tools

  14. yea man- go outside find a wild animal (worth eating) and try to sneak up and break it's neck- unless its a turttle out of water it ain't happening.

And what inventions? The automated killing machine? rBGH (bovine growth hormone)? The automated beak shear?

  15. Well first off, saying religion has nothing to do with this and calling it nonsense... That's idiotic. Over half of the world follows a Judeo Christian beleif or an Islamic beleif. It matters a whole lot.

Humans are at the top of the food chan. Are there animals that can kill us? Sure. But we have proven our superiority over them. We have risen above and conquered.

How much energy and chemicals go into your vegetables? How many animals habitats have been destroyed simply for your tofu? Did you know how many animals were killed just to harvest your veggies? What about your house? How many animals have died to give you a place to live? What about the plants? Don't they have a right to live?
Uh oh, you're hurting the enviroment by using electricty to get on the internet.

Stop hurting all of the animals you bastard. Better lift that barrel to your mouth and pull the trigger becasue the only way to live Vegan is to die.

  16. hehe, peta activists make me giggle.

They act as though all animals share the same degree of consciousness and perception as humans.

  17. Probably not. But he sure as hell was shittin in the woods and picking bugs out of his best girl's hair.

    Oh, I don't know...maybe because it's...nutritious?

    Like what?

Because we have highly developed brains, and we understand concepts such as nutrition. And indoor plumbing.

    Duuuuurrrrrrrrrrr.... :D

  18. All this is falling upon deaf ears-

I once ate meat- infact I will still say I Love Meat, I really could go for a nice piece of salmon or steak right now.

I came to a point in my life where the inefficiencies of the industry really got to me- they are infact destroying our planet.

I looked up the facts man, being a vegetarian is more efficient, it is a lot better for the enviorment.

Do you want to know why some food does come from areas that were once animal habitat- because 66% of crops in the united states ARE USED TO FEED ANIMALS. And to produce 1lb of meat it takes 4-10lbs of grain, that is a horrible waste.

All the animal waste is piling up and in our rivers and water ways (and yes- it does leak into the water ways). The animal waste produced annualy by the farms is tremendous 335 million lbs of untreated shit just laying around in what they call a "lagoon" emitting over 400 gases into the air.

Also a small percentage of the land it takes to support a farm can support a vegetarian- this means- less land wasted, less electricity used, less water used, less fossil fuels used. (I forgot what the actual area of land was but it is rediculous- I'm gona try to find it).

Call me idiot- but it appears many of you ignorant to a matter your arguing against (the person who asked what alternatives to milk are there proved it- it's called soy milk and almond milk- and the person arguing producing veggies are inefficient added).

Anyone who doesn't see the waste involved with raising livestock needs some re-education. I suggest you educate yourself (this is an unbiased website- they have no association to vegetarians or meat eaters) http://www.sustainabletable.org/issues/

AND I'm not a PETA supporter or member- I happened to stumble upon the website is all while looking for vegeterian recipes.

EDIT:: And to all those who think you have to eat meat to survive and that other nonsense- What do cattle eat? They seem pretty strong and muscular considering they eat all that plant matter and don't drink milk.

  19. I don't think it really has much to do with consciousness or the animal's self-awareness. It's definitely not OK to eat retarded people. :D And I fully accept the fact that there's no logical reason for a dog to be a pet and a pig to be breakfast. Plus, there are so many variations of this standard from culture to culture.

It's very arbitrary, what we decide is OK to eat and what's not. Some cultures even think it's OK to eat other people.

So in my opinion, the PETA people should pipe down and thank their lucky stars THEY aren't on the menu! :D
