Anyone have experience in meditation, or conscious sleeping exercises? I'm curious about OBE (Out of Body Experiences) and entering into what is known as the astral realm. I'm a beginner and after one night of completely trying to meditate and feel at peace with my mind and body I feel that I have successfully meditated but needs to be "juiced" up where I can fall into a deeper trance and feel myself float away while still being conscious. Any thoughts?
Meditate often and meditate consistently. This is the best way to achieve results in anything. For conscious dreaming. Keep a dream journal every morning. It will focus your will and attention onto the dream aspect and in time you will see results. Also do reality checks a few times a day.
You may find the combination of shamanic journey music designed to induce hemispheric resonance, often called Hemi-Sync, by composer Byron Metcalf and the Monroe institute[ame]http://www.amazon.com/Shamans-Heart-Hemi-Sync-Monroe-Products/dp/B000OQF3MK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1315490679&sr=8-3[/ame], listened to through good quality headphones, with a little cannabis just before you lay down, usually does the trick.
It's quite terrifying when you first achieve an out of body Realm, but at the same time amazing. I suggest getting really high, put on some meditation music, and try to open your third eye, which I believe is the most simple to do out of all the chakra's. Concentrate on your forehead with your eyes closed, imagine opening your third eye, it's eaisier to read up on it first so you know exactly how to do it.
don't try open anything, imo. Just be there. Let whatever happens happen. With things like this, so close to the mystery and to your subtle self, better nor to try and induce or do anything - even if some allegedly 'proven' or respected tradition, teacher or journal says to do it. Do not bring the fogginess of human interpretation and human intention into these places. let it be, and just be there, gently, curiously, meditatively.
Be careful. You can get lost. You can get so lost you forget your body and it can die slowly while you are "enraptured." I nearly did this to myself once and forgot to eat and sleep for days. I was very sorely tempted. And even if you don't threaten your life, you can still lose your mind. Many have tried to go "beyond" and have lost their minds. Grounding totems were very helpful to me. I do not advise anybody to get into meditation solely so you can play around with astral projection. Namaste -buddha
That's funny that you say concentrate on your third eye chakra because that is exactly what I do. Then after a couple minutes lying there completely relaxed I feel a vibration through my body but when this occurs I start to breathe heavily. Is that normal?
It's your body growing use to it. Your mind is saying "holy fuck this is like magic" therefore resulting in over reactions. Just relax and accept everything that's going to happen as possible in this "reality"
