Medical Marijuana Post Prop 19

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by DonkeyBong88, Oct 18, 2010.

  1. I was curious as to where medical marijuana clinics will stand if Prop 19 passes in California. Will they be open to everyone 21 and older?

  2. medical mj collectives are operating under prop215/sb420 therefore, as it stands now, would remain open for patients only. the medical collectives are the only legal cannabis infrastructure existing now so therefore they may be the beginning of a post-prop19 legal infrastructure. the initiative does not specify that it will be sold akin to alcohol/tobacco at liquor stores so if you've heard someone say dispensaries will be selling to everyone 21+ its just rumors. some counties may even tax every sq.ft used for growing heavily, but again it's rumors (same goes for the claim prop19 is full legalization). i just say VOTE KNOW (get educated on the nfo and vote, don't just go for Yes or No based on others).

Many pro-Pot ppl are voting NO (Craig X for example, who's been hunted down by the DEA many times, a true mj activist), many pro-Pot ppl are voting YES (like Richard Lee of Oaksterdam University who made the inititiative possible, dispensary entrepreneur who's made it big in the mmj industry). Many ppl are saying the Jack Herer 2012 initiative is the real full legalization we should wait for. Whatever happens Prop215 lead the way and will no doubt model the post-prop19/2012 initiatives. I really do believe when ppl say "we can change the world" about P215 in 1996, everything that is happening Cali is because of that. And will continue. Peace.

  3. This is true. Clinics wishing to sell recreational marijuana may need a separate license.

In order to speed things along, some counties may allow clinics to convert automatically or be given a temporary license.

Then how about we stop spreading these "rumors".

Maybe you need a dictionary but there is no such thing as "half legal" or "full legalization". Either its legal, ambiguous(no law outlawing, no law allowing), or illegal.

If by "full legalization" you mean no tax, every baby born can light up, and growers/dealers are unregulated, then that will never happen.

Name a product sold here in America, and there are laws regulating and taxing it.

California Cannabis, Hemp and Health Initiative (CCHHI aka Jack Herer initiative)
    Jack Herer - Initiative

There is nothing stopping people from voting yes to Prop 19 and voting yes to CCHHI(if it can make it on the ballot in 2012).

For those wondering about regulation and taxation, it's in CCHHI as well. CCHHI however puts a maximum tax of $10.00 an oz.

Prop 19 and ABX6-9 come fairly close to CCHHI, well before November 6, 2012.
Only thing major separating them besides different tax and license caps, is CCHHI calls for the release of of those jailed who were convicted of a crime now legal under CCHHI. Which would mean the release of mostly users, as dealers and growers sold marijuana unlicensed and untaxed.
CCHHI calls for a limit of 99 plants and 12 lbs per year per 21+ year old person.(12lbs is about 16oz a month. 16oz is what ABX6-9 will count as legal possession, at any time).

Vote Yes on 19. Write to your Assemblymen about ABX6-9. And prepare for CCHHI in 2012(which will need to be re-written in a post Prop19/ABX6-9 world).
