Medical Marijuana FAQs

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Sachidananda, Dec 2, 2011.

  1. I have a couple of good questions about medical marijuana and thought it would be appropriate to create a thread that would serve as a question-answer type dealymajig. So, in short, if you have questions, or answers for that matter, post them here.

    1. Why are medical marijuana dispensaries the subject of persecution instead of prescription drugs like Oxycontin, xanax, and hydrocodine? It seems backwards to me.

    2. Why does medical marijuana need to have it's own dispensary? Why is it not administered by a pharmacy like other medicines?

  2. The answer to both your questions is simple - Marijuana is still Schedule 1 according to the Federal Government - which means that a Doctor CANNOT legally prescribe any specific dosage or type of Marijuana to patients. They can only legally recommend it's usage. Therefore it's not considered a pharmaceutical and is not treated as such legally.

  3. That's so counterproductive.
