Medical Marijuana Card Assistance ?

  1. Alright so just a little background..
    I am an athlete, 18 years old, and suffer from some VERY irritating mental issues (i hate referring to them as that)
    How it is virtually impossible for me to fall asleep any night easily and stay asleep. With my sport, boxing, comes an extremely stressful way of life, especially because i compete and have many people counting on me for various things. I have these type of panic anxiety attacks fairly often when i start to think and get stressed out, and think that i have some kind of anxiety disorder. Whenever the though of competing, schoolwork, or any other aspect of my life enters my mind, i get massive adrenaline rushes through my body, get very irritable, isolated, stressed and sort of shut down. Obviously after these, it becomes even HARDER for me to fall asleep, which causes me to some what freak out the next morning because I'm somewhat of a health freak.

    I tried marijuana recently after seeing all these benefits, and it was unbelievable how much it helped me in the moment, as well as for the rest of the day.

    Now i dont know if i fit the requirements of a MMJ patient, and i know the fact that im an 18 year old, sort of the troublesome age group where people probably fake conditions just to toke up with friends on a week end.
    I guess id just like a little advice, i live in Seattle and so from what i know it is a fairly liberal state.
    Do you guys suggest i try for a card? or just continue to get it illegally from a friend of a friend?

    Extra note: i do come from a family that is extremely hard headed an believe that marijuana is somewhat taboo, and that it is a sign of weakness to be stressed out and feel the way i do.
    However i am 18, have a decent head over my shoulders and know what i am doing.

  2. Seems like you have a lot going on. Weed can help with symptoms but won't resolve the issues you have. Consider seeing a therapist or something. As for your original question, there is a "Do I qualify" thread for this. Good luck.

  5. and to elaborate, i have a good friend who i believe probably suffers from things similar to you. he is not a boxer, but has to been known to get irritated and violent when sober. when hes high, he feels so much better, is way nicer, yet still able to function. when hes sober, well lets just say hes fought one of his immediate family members and pulled a knife on another. i feel like the mental health benefits of weed are definitely understated
