Medical marijuana bill reintroduced sadly the republicans control everything and its unlikely to pass. i'm sure it will pass sometime in the next 5 to 10 years though here in the land of alcohol
this sucks... and Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin pretty much go hand-in-hand together. it seems like whatever Minnesota does, WI will follow along right after and vice versa. Michigan is already legalized so who's next...

On another similar note, even if a state legalizes fully, the feds will ruin it by saying its illegally selling narcotics. Until the US gov legalizes the states cant do anything effective past medical
Which is a shame, it should be a States Rights issue and not a Federal Gov. Power.... Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut Welcome to Amerika
If enough people get on the backs of our politicians is the only way this has a chance. I fear the worst though. Scott Walker and his republican gang are not interested in the people of wisconsins voice. They have proven that in all the bills that they are trying to cram through now.
Of course not, you can't even protest in front of the Capitol without facing a ticket or fine used to supposedly pay authorities to clean up... Walker and the Republicans are firmly against any constitutional right when its not in their favor, let alone Medical Marijuana... Civil Disobedience would be your only alternative to solve these problems... (not advocating violence, just advocating for the people to stand up and say "Fuck you" to the laws that are not in the peoples interest by doing little things in productive and positive ways)...
This wouldn't pass even if the dems were in the state house. They know where their money lies and unfortunately it is not, and will never be, with the pro-marijuana contingent. It feels like Walker and his gang are being run out of town and they know it. This protest bill (where one of the provisions is that if you protest outside the capital and they feel there is a need for a police presence, your group will be billed for the extra police hours) is so ridiculous and I don't know how it can be constitutional.
You are absolutley right. The dems wouldn't pass it either. And about the protest bill. Let them try to bill a group. Who are they gonna bill? Who's gonna pay? I'd love to see them try. Their efforts would be more frustrating than productive. People will protest being billed.
Speaking from a background in legal studies and political science, I can almost guarantee that it will be challenged at the State Supreme Court. This is a clear violation of first amendment rights. You can't charge someone to protest in front of a building that Walker or his cronies don't own themselves, but share with us the tax payers. Its pimping out our Constitutional rights to protest to police or law enforcement institutions, or in Walkers case- Private security instead of State police. IF for some ungodly reason the State Supreme Court upholds this bill, you can bet top dollar it will be challenged all the way up to the Federal level. Civil Disobedience anyone? Lets go protest the Capitol for Progressive MMJ Reform.... Lets see them charge us.
