Mcupkim's Journal Indoor Soil Grow

So my seeds arrived from Attitude this morning & that was perfect timing because it gave me time to finalize my room! I have a 4x4x6 feet grow room inside a locked room near the rear of my locked basement! I am using a 1000 watt MH at this time for vegging. I installed 1 inline fan (250 cfm) for my intake. It draws fresh air directly from outside. And I have another inline fan (250 cfm) for my exhaust. Since I knew my seeds were a couple days away I have had my light on since Monday. I just wanted to get a feel for what the temp was going to be like. It is actually in the mid 70's with my intake on but my exhaust off. I tried with no fans & I was near 100. With both fans it was under 70. So i guess for now I'll only be using the intake fan. My first plants are 1 Skunk-47 and 5 White Widow. I know I have read that 6 plants will be too many but I am not sure if all of the seeds will even pop. I have put the Skunk-47 directly in soil and am soaking the White Widows over night in some spring water. Tomorrow I will plant them in soil. Pictures of my room & set up are coming tomorrow also. Please give me advice along the way. This is my first indoor grow in many years. ALOT has changed since I have grown indoor. I am open to any suggestions. Thank you.

 

OK everyone....all of my seeds have popped. My Skunk-47 has sprouted & I have learned how to add pictures to my journal. I hope you all will follow my grow 7 help me along the way!! Thanks for all of your support so far!!

I remember you telling me (after i bought it) that I only needed a 400 watt. But a bunch of people on these forums said i might as well get the 1000 because Im only gonna want to upgrade later anyways. So I hope it wasnt a mistake. As for the ole bastards thread, is it easy to find? Ill look now but if you have a link it may be easier to get to. And I did read that flat white paint reflects around 85% of the light. Below I have added a link to some mylar emergency blankets. Would these work for my room. I dont think they have a thickness in the description. Thanks for the input...Im really open for ANY/ALL advice.

So this morning I woke up & my Skunk-47 is doing well. It was yellow yesterday but now is a nice green color. AND, my Widows are all just about out of the soil. I was worried that the seeds wouldnt pop, but they all did. I have grown soooo many plants over the years, never had a problem with popping a seed, but I was worried this time around because i NEVER spent any $$ let alone over $150 on seeds, lol!
But thanks for liking my room. I have never went this far with any of my rooms in the passed. usually were in closets with no fans and cheap 150 watt lights. I never wanted to learn & thought I knew it all! I know now that I know very little & will NEVER know it all. Im glad I found grass city. 90% of people on here are cool....and some are...well just idiots I guess!

Ill post some pics in a little while. Im glad you are interested in my Widow's! PLEASE, along the way, let me know ANYTHING that I should change or consider. Especially the distance of my light & stuff.

All have sprouted....except one, but I see it coming up!! The pot with the piece of duct tape on it is the Skunk-47 by World of Seeds. The other 5 are White Widow by White Label.

 

Im on page 16 of the thread....its actually where your first post is! I am taking notes, or actually writing down the page #. Like for cloning I have the page # written down....only 300 more pages to go. Definitely will eventually read the whole thing! THX!

 

I actually found some 2 mil mylar for a bit cheaper & twice the amount of mylar. But there is some with white backing or black backing. Which do you suggest...or does it not matter? I was thinking the black side so I can possibly (in future grows) split rooms with it.

Cool thanks. Im gonna buy the 2 mil 50 x 4 foot roll. Prolly go with the black reverse side...not too sure yet. Also might get rid of my hood, like the thread Im reading, and make my ceiling the hood. Doing a bit more research before I purchase. Thanks again!!

OMG, The Great One has commented on my journal!! Thank you. I will be buying the 2 mil (50x4 foot roll) with the black reverse because after reading some of your thread i DO plan on expanding after this grow. That is a good price & will be more than enough for now!
