Hi guys, think I might have spider mites checked this morning and noticed some tiny webbing across one of the leaves. I'm week 4/5 into veg. First time I've ever noticed on any grow. Typically I'm really fucking busy today!! but will check properly later/tomoz with microscope/macro lens on dslr. If it is mites has anyone got a real solution?? Will upload pics tomoz to confirm. If more info on conditions are required please ask I'll give full break down. Thanks
Best way is with predator bugs. Lady bugs or lacewing larvae Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
First, I would ditch any plants with webs as they are most likely too far gone. Hopefully you have more than one. If not, you can try to save it, but it’s risky Alternate Azamax and Bonide Pyrethrin every 3-4 days for 2-3 cycles. Spray under leaves really well (might want to defoliate some to reduce habitat and make it easier to spray entire plant), spray tops of leaves, and spray soil surface. Both of these products are organic. Azamax works systemically by making the plant taste unappealing to mites. Basically it’s super refined neem oil. Pyrethrin is an extract of the daisy flower. It kills mites on contact. If you can, the day after spraying, take plants to sink and use sprayer to spray them down good. Use a soil cover and flip upside down. Prevention is your best defense. I run an essential oil diffuser with peppermint, oregano, lemon eucalyptus, and tea tree oils once or twice a week. This keeps humidity up as well. Spider mites like hot and dry conditions. Use the sprays i mentioned, alternating once a week as prevention as well. Add Natria Insecticidal soap as a third option if infestation gets bad. They can become immune so alternating treatments is important. They will ruin your growing life if not controlled. I’ve lost many plants to them. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
i'd try a product that contains Spinosad ,,,,,,its works and says its organic too...but check it out .,,mac,
Thanks for ur help. Unfortunately I am only running 1 plant in bubble bucket so ditching is guna hurt! it was the tiniest piece of Web, I'll have a look at some pics through my dslr and go with one or some of the recommendations Thanks again
Found some more tiny webs this morning, took some pics with my dslr but they're so fucking hard to see, defoliated to fuck ( and I mean pretty brutal) and forgot I had some canna cure tucked away so sprayed the fuck out of it with that. I'm in hydro and read its less common in hydro than soil. Fuck it if I've over done it and it dies, it would have probably been fucked from the mites anyway. Done some og kush cbd in the exact same environment and not one problem, u win some, u loose some I guess. Just get so attached to them it's like looking after ur childhood puppy, and then being told uve got to put it down!!!
Those bastards made me shut down for 6 months. I totally cleaned my entire room out, bombed it twice and wiped everything thing down with bleach and water. I still had a small infestation on the this run, my first since they totally overran me. Fingers crossed, I seem to have gotten on top of them using what I recommended above Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Yeah I try to be as careful about sanitation as possible always clean down and wipe everything with a bleach mix in between grows, make sure there is no debris during grow. This is the first time I've ever come across them. I've come across rot a couple of times but never mites.
Should I romeve my bubble bucket and wipe inside of room with bleach then put bucket back in? I've only treated the plant (or what was left of it after I chopped most the leaves off)!!!
After your grow, clean everything and start doing once a week IPM. Add an essential oil diffuser and run that once or twice a week too Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If you're still in veg I wouldn't throw anything out. Spray them with products until you start to flower then switch over to predatory mites. I'd do a budwash at the end too. Then do a mega cleaning of the room before the next grow with bleach and water. If you don't have a jeweler's loupe you should get one from Amazon. A 30x or 40x loupe only costs about $10 and lets you see everything.
