Hi all - just bought a new Dirty Rico 12 arm Apocoline perc tube, and this is my first scientific piece. I would appreciate any tips on maximizing this beast to it's potential, if anyone has this or a similar piece. I'm not even sure who much water to put in the chamber, so that would be a good start. I have included a couple of pictures of my new baby. Thanks!
about an inch or an inch and a half above the top row of grids add more or less because we won't be able to tell from pics Trial and error my friend.
I'd probably enjoy the hit from it with the water just above the percs (blue line). Wouldn't go higher than the red line: Nice tube!
^The Dirty Rico should have came with a 4-hole so it should have awesome airflow already, but yeah, a disc/screen slide is always nice for keeping your piece clean.
carbon is better, but the b wilson slide is just so tight. if you get a little rez on it you never pull ash though. my mobius never has any ash in it at all.
I guess I should have put "helping keep your piece cleaner." I only meant that less plant material will be sucked through a disc/screen slide than one with 4/3/1 hole(s).
Thanks everyone for the feedback; I will experiment with different water levels, but what differences do you notice from different fills (more drag/less, smoother, taste, effects)? Ironically, I almost bought a B. Wilson slide, but wanted to wait to see what the stock bowl was like. The stock bowl holds the ash pretty well, but will want a B. Wilson to add some color as well as an extra slide.
I recommend either an ice pinch or a DD slide + carbon filter for cleanliness. And I'd recommend halfway between the red and blue line. Never hit a dirty Rico, but I've never seen one fire all the slits
