Hi i am planning on growing soon and need help. I just bought this grow box it is 3ft tall. It has 3cfls, each is equal to 100 watts. I'm planning on growing 8 feminised autoflowering strains.I want to MAXIMIZE MY YIELD, should I grow eight small plants or 1 big plant considering the tote containers size. Should I upgrade to a bigger tote? Should I go soil. I have six 1liter super roots air pots, and 1 pot thats around 1-2gallons. If I grow 1 plant would it be best in my hydro setup from picture or in the 1-2 gallon pot I have for soil? Also i am probably gonna add 3 more CFLs in there. Please help.
i would say with cfls that more, smaller plants is better than one large one since the cfls dont penetrate the foliage that well. I would also say you should lower the lights to get them within a few inches (as close as you can without burning the plants). this should help your yield, the incandescent equivalent doesn't give you much info its more about the true wattage and lumens of the bulb; also pay attention to the color of the light.. it should say something like 2700k on the package. 2700k being a reddish tint, better for flowering and around 6500k for vegging. since youre doing an autoflower, a good mix of both would be a good idea.. maybe adding a few more 2700k toward the end. i dont know much about hydro, but that looks like the roots will be a bit crowded ? anyway, looks like you got a good start. peace
I would grow two in soil and find some way to get more lights much closer to and around the plants or your yields will suck. Dubious of heat removal. Look for "Seymore Buds 8 Oz. for under $100" Good hints for CFL growing.
