  2. their official website www.themarsvolta.com has some video clips on it, I believe including a full performance of Cicatriz. I don't know where else you can download any live clips, but I do hear they have a live DVD in the works.

  3. I literally tripped out to Cassandra Geminni after taking a bunch of vicodin and smoking a fat bowl of the dankest Cali shit I've ever had.

I love The Mars Volta too much.

  4. how did u guys hear about them? i only know them cause the guitarist and lead singer are my my town and they went to my old high school there fuking awesome man

  5. mars volta sucks

the only reason people listen to them is so they can say that they listen to them. its for posers who think that anyone who listens to them is scene. i occasionally like atdi because they have more form, but mv is just noise with no musical influence. whatever its just my opinion, but i dont care about noise made because some piece of white trash ive never met is in a coma....

  6. I feel bad for you.^^^^

  7. i feel bad for you too...yes lots of people pretend to be fans but dont understand them thier artists i mean to me these guys are musical genuises in thier own way...i see them as the modern day pink floyd with a twist

  8. You clearly havn't really sat down and listened to the music and drowned in it. If you had you would know it's not just 'noise'. Also, I don't listen to it because I think it makes me 'scene'. In fact, I hate ATDI, and I dislike most music that could be at all related to it. I hate punk, I hate emo, and any variations of the two. I'm not trying to fit it, I just happen to find the music to be more original than most out there. Which might explain why it has 'no musical influence'. I don't care if you like them or not, but don't bunch me into a group that I loathe.

  9. Mike, you weren't saying you felt bad for me were you?

  10. I'm sure you've heard other bands that use ambient noises...Pink Floyd, Yes. It's just the acid man, it makes you write shit like that into your music. If you think they have no musical influence, then you probably haven't listened to them very much, because they sound a lot like Pink Floyd, with a little Led Zeppelin and Santana thrown in there. You don't always need to have form to your songs. Is it verse chorus verse chorus you're looking for? I prefer music that pushes the boundries and doesn't have to play by the rules of pop songs. But I'm sure you don't know very much about music, using words like poser and scene. Mars Volta is not your typical emo/scene bullshit. It's rock 'n roll.

  11. im going to the concert in chicago, i cant wait to see them again. one of the best live shows ive seen.

  12. tmv is genius, frances the mute is a mindblowing album with more musical integrity in one song than most bands have in their repitiore these days...

  13. I really dont understand why so many people worry about what other people think when it comes to music. I know a lot of people that wont listen to certain bands just because they are popular or mainstream. I really dont give a shit how popular a band is... I listen to the music because it sounds good. Although you gotta give bands like The Mars Volta praise for the intensity of their music. You could get lost in the lyrics alone without even listening to the music. ATDI was good too, every explosion starts with a spark, ATDI sparked a band that I think will have a lot of influence on modern day music, and the music of the near future.

  14. The Mars Volta are the best thing to happen to music in at least 10 years in my opinion.

i can't think of anybody who has come close, in terms of originality, and the sheer skill required to play how they do.

they've got real balls to release an album like Deloused. i don't think that most people are ready to hear something like that. i hear it and think WOW this is genius, downright crazy music.
most people though, hear it and they simply don't get it.

the new Pink Floyd. hey, the guy who did Floyds artwork is the same who does the Mars Voltas!

  15. If you think Deloused is crazy and took balls to make, you should listen to Frances the Mute. If The Mars Volta is the new Pink Floyd, in terms of accessibility and downright craziness of music, Deloused would be TMV's Dark Side of the Moon, and Frances would be, I don't know, Ummagumma or Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Frances the Mute has some of the most original, wild, crazy music I've ever heard.
