Marijuana Related Jobs, Medical/Research/Science/Anything Weed Related

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by Scott Daddy, Jan 26, 2010.

  1. I'm Scott, 18 just graduated highschool, was wondering what kinds of jobs there are out there that have something to do with weed, whether it be research, growing, cannabis cup judging, anything. also, i was wondering what degrees would be required to pursue a career in such a job, anyways. postup.
    :hello:

  2. I am not too sure what jobs are available in the marijuana industry but it would still be a good idea to go to school at the same time. You can even work in the industry while going to school. Enjoy the herb, but also work on something you can fall back on if you have to. Sorry to sound like MOM lol.

  3. Well the marijuana "industry" isn't up and running yet as its not legal yet

You could study psychology and specialize in addiction and you'd have some clout when talking about marijuana...but thats a pretty weird reason to study that.

  4. I did not even factor in the legalization aspect of it. You can always major in Biology with an emphasis on botany. Genetically engineer some kick ass future strains!

  5. Horticulture classes would be a great foot in the door. You'll want to learn about the basics like soils, irrigation, growing in green houses, cloning, pruning, etc. Your local community college should have some classes.

It would also be a good idea to take some business, science, and even some basic law classes to round off the education.

  6. Study political science, do a lot of internships during college, and run for state senate after graduation. Then you can push some real change.
