A few years back I saw Steve-O do the vodka IV on Jackass. What about a tincture? I mean if one were to filter a tincture through a cotton or a wheel filter to get any tiny particles out do you think it could be safely injected? I'm sorry if this is inappropriate or offensive to anybody.
not necessarily. heat is most often used to extract the THC from the bud into whatever medium (smoke, butter, chocolate etc.) you are using but in this case, a tincture would be prepared with alcohol so no heat would be required because the THC would diffuse into the solvent. but back to OP, this is a pretty bad idea. injecting anything directly into your bloodstream has many known risks as any medical professional will tell you. Alcohol is essentially a poison and any impurities could cause pretty serious problems not to mention the damage you're going to cause to your veins from direct contact with a high concentration of alcohol (ever put rubbing alcohol in a cut? ouch...) Also, even if you were to do a THC extraction with distilled water, you'll be getting Chlorophyll and other things that are not THC in the tincture. threre's probably more reasons this is a bad idea, but I cant think of them.
It is an interesting idea though, I mean, if a chemist or someone was able to purify a Tincture enough so that it was nothing but all the Cannabinoids, I'd mainline it no problem.
