Alright so recently me and my parents have been fighting about weed.

I am for weed, and my parents are not.
Here are some things I found on Johns Hopkins research and study's about weed. Let it be known that johns Hopkins is one of the top medical sources around. Also if you link an argument, make sure it is .edu, or from a widely respected medical source. Please, give me anything u can so I can show my dad, but it can't be from some random fucking nut-job doctor or my dad will ruin me for it. I need solid evidence.

Here is some of his side of the argument that I have found:

    http://www.jhu.edu/health/marijuana.html

    http://m.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/m...thdrawal_as_Bad_as_Withdrawal_from_Cigarettes

These werent given directly from him, I just did a quick search on Johns Hopkins and marijuana.

  2. Where is granny and her list when ya need her haha

    lighten up

  6. lol @ lighten up

  7. I have seen granny's list, and no hate to granny but it dosent help much with my situation. You see, my dads an ass. He needs hard evidence. Like .edu sites, more recent study's, sources from the top medical university's around the world. He says he won't discuss marijuana with me unless I find strong evidence to compete with these universities.

If I get good information and sites I will update you all on his response.

  8. Show him the Union.

  9. Or stop arguing? That doesn't solve anything. Tell him you are mature, and have made your own decision and wish he respect it.

  10. That's not an end-all, be-all source, though. The Union is slightly pro-pot (IMO), though it's a good documentary that covers a lot of info.

OP, many of Granny's links are to respected medical/scientific journals...your dad won't accept those?

No. Because compared to Hopkins, one of the best in the world, they don't compete. They simply aren't on the same level.
Maybe Hopkins is right. Scientifically speaking.
Although I believe personally that marijuana has other beneficial properties that can't be put on paper.

  12. haha that's such bullshit
btw I smoked pot with johnny Hopkins

  13. Yea your probably not going to find much pro marijuana information on many "respectable" websites. Why don't you ask your dad the question of despite many peoples negative veiws on marijuana doctors and all. Why has medical marijuana even been able to become a legitimate thing.

There are lies and truth all around. You cant expect to go to the same group of people where you get negative info, looking to find positive info. Any scientist worth his salt can make a biased experiment or if they know a thing or two about statistics, manipulate the sample to be biased or make the graphs misleading.

You cant go to fox news expecting to find a negative response to whether Ron Paul got fair coverage or not. Everyone has an agenda, the thing you need to do is get information from a pro marijuana source but dig deeper so you can prove how exactly the experiment was done, how large was the sample size, what were the characteristics of the sample size ect. If you can prove the experiment was done using valid procedures then i do not see how your father can chalk it up to quack doctors.

  14. haha it says that it gives you cancer and that it has the affect of 5 cigaretts
now tell me John Hopkins, of
it gives you lung cancer how come nobody that smokes weed has lung cancer

  15. Honestly no disrespect but i find that also to be bullshit. Name should mean nothing, when it comes to valid experiments.

Thats like saying you have to be a famous chef to be able to cook a better steak than Bobby flay, or Gordon Ramsey. That is throwing skill and method out of the window and seems pretty snobby.

  16. "While THC has been shown to prevent nausea and vomiting, it is not as effective as other treatments. Other treatments also have a big advantage over marijuana: they don't make the patient feel intoxicated, which means that he or she can hold down a job and live a normal life. "

That quote is from the first link you provided, which might i add was all talk and no numbers.

Now try to tell me that quote is not biased. What about the big disadvantages and sometimes possibly fatal side effects of these no name other treatments. Many people have no problem doing normal activities while high.

Telling you man you aren't going to find much, if anything positive about marijuana from those sources. If the only things your father will accept are from those obviously anti-pot sources then there is no way you can win a information battle with him. You need to step outside the box and find some sources the have the same agenda as you.

"Scientists have no idea why marijuana affects the pressure in the eye, so all of the dangers are not understood. " Cmon even i know why marijuana affects eye pressure, due to the expanded capillaries and other blood vessels, hence why you get red eyes.

  17. Sorry but your dad sounds like an ass hat if he will only listen to people that are often times biased, If med journals aren't enough then he's helpless to the propaganda

  18. Marijuana does not cause cancer..but the combustion and smoke can, eventually. Smoke isnt mean to be inside your lungs(obviously) but there are no reported cases of cancer from ONLY weed in thousands of years. Life is short and pretty much anything can cause cancer these days. we had hot dogs here that gave people cancer.
