Marijuana For ADD and Aspergers

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Timpet, Aug 10, 2012.

  1. I have been smoking for about 5 years and recently found out I have ADD and Aspergers. I am wondering if anyone else out there smokes and has ADD and/or Aspergers?

When I smoke, I find that it is easier to concentrate, create and even think. I smile more and I feel almost normal. Does anyone else know what I mean?

Here is a YouTube video that really does sum up what I am trying to say: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTqLFbTktRg]Medical Marijuana and Bipolar Disorder - YouTube[/ame].

  2. I have ADD.

  3. And yeah, I totally know what you mean.

  4. Smoking can help social anxiety, indicas help me but sativas make it worse, I start thinking that everyone hates me and stuff like that.

  5. I have self diagnosed ADD haha, my parents never get me tested for it though because they thought i was just trying to get drugs. I still cant sit still or concentrate for shit, but i don't even notice it anymore after smoking every day almost all day for a number of years now.

  6. ... This offends me
This is where over diagnosis comes from and it makes people who are correctly diagnosed such as myself be discredited by society.

That honestly offends you? Well toughen up bro, i never said thats why i think i have ADD, i know there id much more to it than that.

  9. If you have aspergers you basically become a selfish shut-in boozehound who loses all his friends over time and is left with nothing. Happened to one of my old friends. You'd go to chill and he's just be in his own little world on the computer and play and play and play and talk to himself.

That's exactly what happened to me a few years ago, except instead of booze it was heroin. I'm still getting over it, doing much better lately, but I don't think I'll ever be the same after what happened. I had severe undiagnosed sleep apnea for 17 years before it was treated, certain parts of your brain don't develop quickly if you're constantly suffocating in your sleep. I hope someday there will be some treatment for it, no one should have to live like this.

When cartman goes into the nurses office with burgers in his pants is hysterical :smoke:.

  13. You have no idea what you're talking about.

  14. That's pretty accurate, actually. A lot of people with Aspergers endure years of emotional pain from middle to high school and eventually completely give up on social interaction entirely because their constant failures to interact properly and odd mannerisms teach them that they'll never be normal, so they just stop trying.

  15. Ive got ADD and bud helps aton

  16. Yeah, he definitely doesn't have any idea what he's talking about.

@Gryphonics and the other people talking about "ass burgers", are you aware this is offensive? We're all stoners, after all, whether we're autistic or neurotypical...

I have ADHD and also a mild form of Asperger's syndrome. I am not a "selfish shut-in boozehound" and I do not fit this description. I am a nice person and have very close friends. I am not selfish by any means.

Yes, I do enjoy getting high on my own more than getting stoned around other people, because I do love exploring my own inner world when I alter my consciousness, but when I get high with my friends I am not selfish and insensitive towards them. In fact, I've actually had a wonderful bonding experience with a close friend when we were both high. I can get very talkative and become more aware of how much I love people around me when I smoke, I end up being more empathetic towards them. And you know what? I've seen non-autistic people turning into very insensitive beings, lost in their own worlds, when stoned. So don't be quick to judge us...

That being said, I don't think that weed helps my ADHD or my Asperger's. It doesn't harm them either though. But many Aspies swear by marijuana's properties to help them, from what I've seen...

Bra ive got bad ADD and sleep apnea too. What can i do to help my sleep apnea

  18. Autism/Aspergers is a spectrum disorder; meaning there are degrees of it.

  19. Get a sleep study, and they can give you a retainer to wear, or a CPAP machine in a severe case. You need to get that shit treated right away, constant suffocation during sleep causes irreversible changes to the brain.

  20. I have ADD and honestly ever since I started smoking it seems almost that every symptom I had from ADD completely went away and I'm just calmer and happier
