Marijuana and ADD/ADHD

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by SizurP, Sep 2, 2009.

  1. Hello,

    Recently a number of studies have been conducted revolving around the use of Cannabis(Marijuana) as a treatment for teens and adults with ADD / ADHD. Below are some safe links about these studies on Medicinal Marijuana for Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity Disorder. If past medications such as Ritalin, Adderal, Concerta, etc. have proved undesirable in either side effects or didnt seem to treat the symptoms at all, i reccomend you seriously start considering cannabis treatment. Here are just a few facts concerning ADD treatment;

    • Cannabis is a much more safer substance then popular synthesized treatment such as Methylphenidate and Amphetamines.
    • Cannabis can be ingested in a variety of ways ranging from capsule, candy form, food or even tea if your against smoking and although these may be more expensive, theyre significantly more healthy with virtually NO health risks.
    • Past treatment using synthesized drugs such as Ritalin have much more health risks and negative side effects and surveys show that they have a far less approval rating then cannabis by past users which were unsatisfied with these drugs.
    • Some of the most prestigious physicians in the following states, where Medicinal Marijuana has been approved highly reccomend this treatment: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. Thats all 14 states it has been legalized!
The following links are information on Medicinal Marijuana, I HIGHLY reccomend you look into this and do some research on Cannabis and Cannabinoids, which are the natural THC receptors located in the Human brain and how they help with a wide range of psycological disorders and terminal illness's.

  2. Medical marijuana has been established to cure a huge number of disorders, and now that it's legal in some states, people are able to take advantage of this so called “miracle drug”, also known as cannabis. In particular, medical marijuana has been noted to have an intense effect on an ADD ADHD children suffering, so much so that it may end up replacing drug Ritalin as the drug of choice to treat the condition.

Taking a dose of Cannabis (Marijuana) at home you must carefully observe and monitor to see how affects the child. Some children with ADD / ADHD do very well on a low dosage over the course of an entire day or others need a dose more often. Parents must know their child best, and especially you will figure out what works best with the help of your physician.

  4. i got my card for ADD and it has worked wonders:hello:

  5. sadly in RI add/adhd does not qualify for mmj

    that...is alot of acronyms

  6. "addicted", you and the rest of the posters need to become activists and get those other conditions like ADHD added to the list! We also NEED reciprocity between the MMJ state, so a patient from California is legal in Maine and vice versa!

My friend uses MMJ for his ADD as well as muscle spasms, I for bipolar...The only thing my psych said to be careful of was the fact that it is carcinogenic...

France keeps getting better and better :)

BTW thanks for some more interesting reading

  8. Ralta- time for you to turn your psych on to the fact that cannabis can cure some cancers- not cause them! Education is a good thing!

  9. Hahaha, I had heard that Granny, but when you are trying to talk to one of France's foremost 'experts' on the effects of MJ, and he admits that you 'know' more about the plant than he does, you begin to see why France still hasnt decriminalised MJ for MMJ purposes...or at least I think they haven't...Ralta doesn't quite understand the French legal system,

Seriously though, to have a drug councellor psych NOT telling you to not smoke is a very liberating experience. I was happy that the only 'credable' argument he muster was that it was 'carcinogenic' and that in the long run it COULD cause further problems.
