    (07-22) 17:12 PDT SAN FRANCISCO --
A jury convicted a San Francisco man of first-degree murder Wednesday for his involvement in the robbery and shooting last year of a patron of a Mission District medical marijuana dispensary.

The San Francisco panel deliberated for 2 1/2 days before finding Ijeoma Ogbuagu, 21, guilty in the Sept. 14 slaying of Royshawn Holden, 23. Holden was gunned down during a robbery outside the Mr. Nice Guy Cannabis Club on Valencia Street.

He faces 26 years to life in prison under the felony murder rule, which allows someone involved in a robbery or other crime to be held liable for first-degree murder even if they did not pull the trigger.
Problems with the only witness led prosecutors not to seek an indictment against the alleged triggerman in the slaying, Julius Hughes, 25, who was released.

During the Ogbuagu trial, however, the witness had "no doubt" that it was Ogbuagu who robbed him, having seen him before in the neighborhood.
The case against Hughes was dropped in February based on problems with the witness' identification of Hughes. The witness did not waver on his identification of Hughes as the killer during the Ogbuagu trial, however.

Prosecutors had no comment on whether they will recharge Hughes.
In trial, Ogbuagu's lawyer, Franz Fuetsch, argued that his client was somewhere else, but provided no alibi witnesses. He brought in an expert to challenge the witness' identification of his client.
"It's unfortunate," Fuetsch said of the verdict.
Ogbuagu is to be sentenced Aug. 11.
