I'm growing a lowryder X blueberry and I wanted to know when is the soonest I can tell wether the plants a male or female? And how can I tell the difference?
Run a search... The males grow balls, the females grow hairs. I dunno when you'll notice them as I've never grown that strain before. Just keep a look out.
I just checked out my plant right now, it's about 1-2 weeks old. Right where it branches off, I can see really small green piston's or hairs coming off. There not shaped like balls, so I don't think there pollen sacks, and there not white so I don't think there the female hairs. They look like there just more branches starting to form, but I don't know.
You have to wait until it flowers. The little thing sticking out at each node is there regardless if it's a male or female.
