Male pollen. Now what?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by keatann, Sep 1, 2003.

  1. OK I've allowed my one male to produce pollen away from the females. I've learned how to pollinate the lower branches of just one of the females and now I want to use the male for hash. Here's my question... If there is pollen is still left on his leaves should I get rid of it first or just go ahead and screen it? If I do have to remove the pollen first how do I do it? I don't think I want the pollen mixed with the hash! Everything I have learned about growing and making hash I have learned from this forum. So I want to thank all of you for answering all of theses questions and helping us who are new to this "hobby".

  2. How do you pollinate just the lower branches and not the rest?

as for removing pollen I think you should just let it dry and the pollen will fall off. maby

  3. You can collect the pollen and apply it with a q-tip to just the branches you want to allow to seed. That way the whole plant isn't full of seeds. But you will get enough for next years grow.
Just collect the pollen by gently shaking the male flower over a mirror. You can see it best this way. Then apply it to the lucky female.

  4. that or put the pollon in a bag, put the bag over the branch, hold the end so it dont fly off and shake the bag.
thats the lazy way lol :)

leave the pollon in the hash, its ok to smoke. oh and dont make hash outta the male flowers, just dry em an smoke em, ther the best bit.
