Making THC Pills, got a few questions.

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by MrPhilleh, Jan 14, 2010.

  1. Hello everyone.

Im gonna be making THC Pills by extracting the thc from the bud in to olive oil.
Ive just got a few questions.
#1, My main concern, the smell. How bad is it? How long does it linger, and is their any way to prevent/minimize it? Please, i need people who have actually made extracts before. Im not about to get the cops called on me.

#2, Getting the olive oil onto the pills? I plan on using an eye dropper to transfer them into the pills. Their just little gelatin capsuels. [IMG]

#3, What if i coat the pills in sugar/caffeine? Ive heard alot that the high is a tired high, so i thought about coating the pills in caffeine. I wont put anymore than half of a normal cup of coffee on each pill, i dont think any more will fit, but im just wondering. Im probly gonna coat it in sugar just for the taste.

#4, THE HIGH!!! Whats it like? Ive heard that extracts and baked goods differ, but im just curious as compared to smoking, again, i just need people whove actuallly done extracts before.

    Anyways, thanks everyone.

  2. I would think the olive oil would dissolve the gelatin capsule?

  3. Ive tried a Marinol pill a few times...

Best taken on an empty stomach or shortly after waking up. I took one 10mg right after waking up and hungry, and about an hour later I felt like I had smoked a bleezy to my face. And it lasted at least 4 hours. Nice.

  4. why so? Don't gelatin capsules usually have some sort of oil inside? :smoking:

  5. I have never heard of theese before! It looks really cool. Where did you get the capsules from? Let us know how it goes!

  6. If you are referring to like Nyquil capsules or something along those lines, they do not use "powder caps" like these. Point in case, a long time ago.. in a past far far away. Me and a friend weren't too found of the taste of mushrooms, so we dried ( 90% dry, there were not 100% dry ) them, ground, and shoved in the ( possible 750mg-1000mg ) size caps. Even the slightest bit of moisture started to soften and "melt" them.

  7. These capsuels have some type of corn-based coating on the inside that stop it from melting. But thats only on the inside. Ive tested them with sugar and milk, both hold up just fine. They slip right down your throat too.

  10. I know that when I made brownies it wasnt really that bad to be honest. I did it at my friends and his grandma walked right past us and didnt say anything.

  11. Did you cover them in foil? I heard that helps....

  12. Foil generally helps trap the smell in. I made some fire crackers the other day and you could barley smell them.

  13. it just occured to me that maybe making a tincture with lemon extract would work better with this than with olive oil. I didnt even know thc gets absorbed in olive oil.

  14. I didn't put it into capsules since this was the first time I tried it and was only making a test batch. I cannot eat THC during the work week, because of the lingering effect the next day. I have to stick to smoking during the week and then I consume cannabis on friday and saturday because that is when I have the most pain. All you need to do to cannabis is heat it up slightly to decarboxylate it and make it 'active'. I have read on the internet that heating cannabis up to about 125-130 F is hot enough. I have posted a 'final report' on that link if you wanna check it out.

  15. If you read, the post. You would understand how heating it works, and why this method (recomended by a DOCTOR) works.

Its not vaporizing the thc, like most edible recipe's do, or extracting it. Its just heating it enough to activate it, leaving it intact inside your weed :)
    so you can eat it.
