Making Syrup with BHO shatter

    I am having trouble finding a how to video or recipe on how to make the syrup using concentrate. All the vids I am finding are different and a little confusing.

    If anyone can break down the process or show me the way to an instructional video that would be very much appreciated.

    What type of syrup do you want? Something like a simple syrup, flavored or not, to add to other things, other recipes? I would use the concentrate along with some high proof alcohol and infuse some sugar and then use the infused sugar to make your simple syrup which should dissolve in most things. You'd need to decarb your concentrate first. You can make the unflavored simple syrup or use fruit juice or flavoring.

    You can make your plain syrup first then add a small amount of alcohol to your decarbed concentrate. Evaporate off the alcohol which will infuse the syrup. Stirring and fairly high heat is needed for best results. :)

    I need help with finding out how much shatter(70%) to use.
    I want to make each ounce of syrup to have 50mg of thc.
    I am also going to make a tincture, then mix it with 1 cup corn syrup, 1 cup simple syrup(2to1 method) and some food coloring
    Please help asap if you can thanks !

    One cup corn syrup and one cup simple sugar is a 1:1. There is 700 mg THC per gram of your shatter. One gram will make 700/50 mg = 14 ounces of syrup. Just a little under your 16 ounces of syrup available..

    Ok great I am making it as we speak,

    Does it have a sitting or resting period after mixing the simple syrup (water&sugar) + corn syrup + 15 mL tincture?
    Or after mixing can you consume right away ?

    You usually heat it until all the alcohol has evaporated and keep it stirred. It still needs to infuse your syrup for best results. :)

    I just used the 1 gram for the 16 ounces. It came out very good as far as consistency, taste, and look.
    I ended up using 4 ounces simple syrup, 6 ounces corn syrup, 6 ounces agave nectar.
    I wish it was a little more potent though, 43 mg THC per ounce was a little more on the weaker side.
    If I wanted to make a tincture with 1400 mg thc to 30 mL then add to the already made syrup, would that work? Or do you recommend making a new one?

    You'd need to double the shatter but you were close to your goal on this one, 43mg instead of 50 but not bad for the first time.

    You can add another gram of decarbed shatter to your current batch but the extra heat from it could crystallize the syrup if you're not careful. I would probably chalk this first one up to your learning curve and make a new one with all new ingredients but that's up to you. I'm glad, though, that the first one turned out well since syrups can be tricky at times. :)

    Thanks man! It was a lot of fun and I am now hooked lol. Thanks I will probably make another batch tomorrow or the next day. I will take a video of the end result to show you.
