Making oil in an apartment

I know a guy that fucked his arms and face up making oil by a water heater. If you have no sources of ignition like a pilot light on a water Heater ou should be ok.

 

I make qwiso in my apartment all the time, just let it evaporate near a window or outside

 

Don't do it!! Make some dry ice or qwiso instead. You will still have nice hash and a place to live.
I'm not trying to be a downer by any means but is a little oil worth burning down an apartment complex with who knows how many people in it? Probably not.

yeah makin BHO inside is never a good idea. Make some ISO or dry sift.

 

Make it on the balcony! Its what I do and no problems with my water heater in a similar spot. If you're worried about people seeing you just sit everything down on the floor, dish facing in to the apartment, your back blocking the view, or just do it at late on a week night while most people are sleeping. If you must work inside, iso with a good fan near an open window or some everclear/ice water/dry hash are safer bets.

 

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS EVEN REMOTELY NEAR A WATER HEATER. i know there is no need for caps i just want to get it across to you how serious this is most people who have blown themselves up, is by doing what you are trying to do, run bho in a small or confined space/ near a water heater. please do not be another tragic bho explosion news story. Just save you self from either death or horrible injuries, just do iso or even better in an apartment bubble hash!

 

yeah if what I'm picturing in my head is correct, your water heater is in a closet on your porch? or no?

 

Dont do it unless you are 100% outside and not near open windows or doors. I do it in the middle of my yard.

Fwiw my water heater is about 6 feet away from my bho station, and I blast right next to my open patio door, have yet to explode. I do only blast a 1/4 can per run usually though, and do close the door if I'm doing a bigger run, but my theory is the outdoors is so vast that even the slightest breeze should dissipate the tane rather effectively.
Obviously you shouldn't be puffing a joint while doing a run, but I think the patio bho crew is safe, especially considering the door separating the water heater is most likely completely sealed (it has been in every apt i've ever rented)

 

Sorry but your reasoning is not good. Not sure of your exact location but, if you are not outside away from buildings, etc.. then you are not being very smart at all in my opinion, and in fact.

I'll admit having the door open isn't the best practice bit I do have curtains cutting off most of the airflow. Why do I have to be away from buildings? I'm outside and away from all spark/flame etc hazards so I don't understand what proximity to the building is doing for my safety?
Just fyi, I know a few people who due to circumstance have taken their bho making indoors and it can be done safely with the proper precautions, but it's a lot more dangerous and many more precautions must be taken so obviously I won't ever advise it.

 

Just a safe practice in my opinion. I always worry about something hitting the cement or something near my house and creating a spark or even static electricity. I dont know, I am always paranoid while making it and just do the job and walk away asap. I come back in a few once most of the tane is gone. That tube stays well away from me. Its like a pipe bomb waiting to go off.

Good points, if you have access to the space then absolutely get nice and far away from everything. If necessary, however, I still maintain it can be made safely in less than ideal conditions.

I always wear glasses when blasting because the thought of glass shards is terrifying. Can safety glass be blown? That could be a good idea for an extraction tube.

 

I used to live in a 2nd story apartment with a balcony and I always made my BHO on the balcony with the sliding glass door closed so that no butane fumes would get inside.

IMO it is never safe to run BHO inside.

 

Never ever ever ever make bho indoors.

I dont care if you have a damn jet dan blowing fumes out.. at that point you're risking other peoples lives, including children in an apart complex.
