Hello GC. Do you guys like JERKYY? i know i sure do. anyways im making jerky and getting high while i wait for it to cook. i bought a smoker a few months ago and its makes the BEST jerky ever. Currently have my redhot soy brownsugar blend in and my wifes marinade as well. Got some nice hickory Wood in there aswell. Mmmm MMM good, i cant wait.
Shit im sorry! but i want jerky too and i have to effing wait, im making it for my board sesh tomorrow I have like 2 more batches to make after this one.
homemade jerky is amazing. you have to be a patient man/woman. My buddy bought a smoker at the beginning of last summer. During the week we cold smoked cheese and made jerky(turkey, fish, venison, and regular beef), but come the weekends we would talk to the rest of the friends and buy a rack or two of ribs, some pork-belly, or brisket and smoke it all day while we drank outside on the porch
God that sounds amazing...i fucking love jerky. All kinds! My uncle hunts deer and makes the most amazing deer jerky, he always buys beef and makes lots of different flavors/spiced varieties of beef jerky. Not much is better. Mmmmmmm i want some now DAMMIT! haha
i bought a brinkman smoke n grill it was like 38 bucks at home depot its just a charcoal grill mine looks much cooler then that. only like 2 more hours left on the jerky. some is gonna be done before the others though. ill grab my camera and give you a look at it.
Pigpen that looks amazing! nice work. Makes me mouth water. I like the decor on the smoker too edit: im surprised those stickers dont melt off! lol
i had a food dehydrator, years ago i used for making jerky,, and other things with.... damn i got to get another one,,, jerky does sound good,,,,, i give this thread the neck seal of approval.. ..............
i thought the exact same thing when i did it. but the smoker never really gets that hot. some of the clear coat on the stickers got a little bubbly and wierd looking. but managed to stay on. i think im gonna do another batch after this one. as its never enough, wish i had two of them. but next week i want to do some venison. i need to perfect the marinade aswell. my current marinade is 1/3 cup brown sugar 2 cups soy 3 cups Red hot a dab of cayenne pepper some crush red peppers some dried onions The other batch is 1/2 cup brown sugar 3 cups soy a bunch of crushed red peppers They are both going to be fucking dank. yummmy
I don't have any measurements for this, i usually just mix till it looks right. a bit of asian style. Soy Sauce Honey Ginger(i like fresh but dried/ground isnt bad) Garlic a little dash of sesame oil and you can go Red Pepper Flakes or i like to use the chilli paste(i know it as "cock" sauce because of the rooster)
mm sounds good. the next batch i make needs more flavor for sure. i just sampled a few of the pieces and the marinade my wife made was way better. Im gonna give it another hour on the smoker to get the bigger pieces nice and jerkified.
the great indoors? im pretty sure im doing this outside? but who ever moved it moved it for a reason i guess.
