making glass bongs

  1. Hello All,
I'm new to the site and apologize if I'm redoing an older post but i am in the process of learning to make glass bongs. I want to get some drill bits but I wasn't sure what size to buy, also I was wondering if it would be better to secure downstems with glue or those rubber things (forgot the name, starts with a g). Lastly, does anyone know of a good site to get downstems and bowls?

  2. Glue, with regards to glass, is not your best friend. That thing that starts with a G? they're called rubber grommets, and these are definitely your best bet.The best thing you can do for drillbits will be getting diamond coated carbide hole saws. The only thing better that i've found is to get yourself a rotary tool (i.e. a Dremel) and get a diamond coated point for that. It's worked wonders for me so far. If you want videos that might help you out in the process, check out soundrone's video's on yourtube. He has a small series that talks about making your own bongs. Starts with plastic, but then eventually moves up to drilling a Bong Spirit Vodka bottle. Epic to say the least.

Good luck! let me know if you have any more questions.
