making capsules

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by pushu, Jul 30, 2019.

  1. I have an inexpensive cap-n-quick that works fine for powdered herb but not as well for oil.
The problem I have is putting the tops back on the capsules. The empty caps I get come together and have to be separated. Doing so sometime deforms the tops and they don't go on well. Putting the tops on one at a time is very time consuming and some of them just won't go back on.
Is there a better machine out there to automate this process?

  2. I use animal gelatin capsules and the tops don't deform, are you using vegetable gelatin caps?

  3. yes, I have been using vegetable caps. I was just looking on line and I see you can buy them already separated (for about 50% more cash)

  4. I've tried a capsule holder but it was making more of a mess then hand filling each one was so I'm back to hand filling.

Didn't work worth a damn for my needs. Dry powder only.

  5. Made specifically for oil - Amazon is your friend.

  7. I have seen a lot of success with oil caps with this one. I've never used one, though.:confused_2:

  8. I don't know what makes them different - but I use them for oil and I never have a problem taking them apart or putting them back together.

One thing I did notice - if I let them sit in the freezer overnight before I cap them, the caps don't go on as well as if I put them in the freezer just long enough to solidify the oil, then cap them.
