Main Kola type strain w/ LST?

  1. A plant that doesn't grow many bud sites but instead has a large main kola....can something like this be LST'd? Just curious about how I can maximize production.

  2. The whole point of LST is to get light to the new bud sites. So you end up with a lot more colas instead of one big one.

Your question then, contradicts itself. If you want one main cola and no others, flower early and small. Don't LST. Although LST tends to increase yields so.... you decide.

I'd read up some more on LST though. Sounds like you;'re a little ocnfused:confused:

  3. Actually, I asked the question wrong, you're absolutely right tho.

What I want to know is, is there any benefit LST'ing a strain that ONLY has a main kola? With only one Kola, will LST'ing really offer more light to the plant as opposed to a standard verticle grow? Will the training help increase the yield from the plant?

It's a cfl scenario so I imagine positioning lights won't be a problem, I just want to cover the bases before commiting myself fully to either a standard or LST.

It's been my intention to LST the plant the whole way thru, but the Kola issue concerns me. If I can't LST, then I think I would want to SCRoG.
