I was making some ISO hash and I guess maybe the alcohol was on my hand for a bit too long, I wasn't looking but my friend pointed at my hands in shock and said they're red. they were bright red like I had red paint all over them. It kinda scrubbed off after washing them for like 5 mins. wondering if it was blood and if I should be concerned. was using 91% iso with water as the only other ingredient. found no info on google.

  4. Oh shit dude! Quick! Drink lots of Epsom salt!

  5. I'd really appreciate some real help. I even asked a chemistry teacher I know and she said it was unusual and didn't know anything about it. Kinda freaky when your hands start bleeding after having rubbing alcohol on them and you can't find any answers on the internet.

  6. Sorry for the stupid and pointless posts from the other idiots in this thread.

I've never heard/seen this happen, so my best guess is that you had an allergic reaction or your hands just got irritated. Next time wear nitrile gloves to protect yourself.

  7. This is the really creepy bit

    This

I've never had it happen either.

I think spaced is right, you probably had an allergic reaction for some reason. I've never heard if this before either but I can't imagine what else it could be

Yeah it might have been an allergic reaction but it didn't seem like my hands were just irritated. they turned full on bright shiny red and the stuff was like a residue, it had to be washed off.

Since in the moment I was kinda shocked I didn't think to take pics or smell it or anything to try to identify if it was blood or not.

I've used 91% ISO from walgreens before and have never had this happen, but yes I will probably be using gloves from now on.

Btw thanks for the feedback guys, those first few posts were pretty distressing to see.

    EDIT:

They were not like this but more like this..

except completely covered and maybe a bit darker.
Less liquid-y too, kinda like a dry rub but still a bit wet and sticky. idk how to explain it.
