Mac vs. PC

  1. I had Skype on a PC. Only downloaded it for a website I was working on because we could talk from thousands of miles away.

Thing is MSN is more known/convenient. I don't really use a webcam except to talk to one person so I might see if they'll download Skype.

  2. Check out Adium, it's a great chat client. I'm not sure if it has video capability, but it's still a solid program.

  3. I love my Mac.

  4. easiest way is to use Senuti (Itunes backwards)

It costs $18... that's the shitty part. But, it will have u plug in your ipod, bring up the window where your music library is, and you can simply highlight all the songs and hit "transfer" and they'll all go straight to your library.

  5. Thanks for the suggestion, but I just won't spend $18 for something like this. I'm trying to avoid a download as well (no real reason).

I transferred iPods onto PCs with XP, Vista, and Windows 7. It was a little process but after you did it once it only took 5 minutes to complete for free without downloading anything.

I'm hoping that link is accurate and I can figure it out.

  6. PC ftw.

Much better for gaming, still very versatile for graphics and 3D.

Macs are over rated and lame.

I can build a badass PC for about the same price for a decent Mac.

    PCs ftw

windows are for regular folks that uses a PC to read emails, surf the internet and watch porn.

mac are for those that require a little bit more stability in their system and uses a PC for art related work. the mac OS runs almost like linux, but a lot of kernel commands cannot be excuted, however, you can install kernel libraries to make more linux commands "usable"

linux are for those that likes to tweak with their PC day in and day out. Also, great for running servers cause linux can be tailored very specifically to 1 user.

3 different knifes meant for 3 different jobs, sure, they can all work in all 3 ways, they're all knifes at the end of the day, but i won't use a cleaver to peel a potato, neither will i use a parring knife to butcher a chicken.

    build wise

windows - once again, written for the general public, with that many different companies producing so many different parts, it's more like a general pre-written OS that will work with everything.

Looks at the windows OS as a generic OS, say for example, this is a graphics card, so find the generic command to send the info to the graphics card

mac - hardware and software have been pre-selected and pre-designed to work together.

looks at the mac OS, each piece of hardware has their drivers written to work specifically with all the other hardware

linux - u can get any piece of hardware to work with it, just have to find the driver, when all else fails, write your own driver.

looks at the linux OS - u can make any hardware work with any hardware, once again, back to finding the drivers or writting your own drivers.
