  1. Nuff said, awesome classic rock track.

    If I leave here tomorrow
    Would you still remember me
For i must be travelling on now
There's too many places I gotta see

And if I stay here with you girl
Things just wouldn't be the same
For I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
And the bird you cannot change
And the bird you cannot change
    Lord knows I can't change

Bye bye it's been sweet love
Though this feeling I can't change
Please don't take it so bad now
Cause lord knows I'm to blame

And if I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
For I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
And the bird you cannot change
And the bird you cannot change
    Lord knows I can't change

Going down the shore for the week, just smoked a nice blunt with my bro listenin to this. It's a 3 hour drive (towards the crest of new jersey, like last exit on the GSP) and this song was the perfect pick me up for a nice cruise.

Recommend you download it if you have not heard it.

The energy of the song is unbelievable.

  2. A good record, indeed, though nowhere near as good as, 'Sweet Home Alabama', IMO.

    Gotta love the Skynyrd.

  3. I remember the first time I heard it. It started off so slow, I was just kinda like wtf. Then the guitar solos come in and I almost jizzed my pants. How they get the two guitar solos to go together so perfectly will always bewilder me.

In fact im gonna put it on now.

  4. i love freebird

when it comes on, everyone has to be quiet haha

no one interferes with my skynyrd time:)

  5. where on the jersey shore do you go, I go down every year in the end of the summer to Stone Harbor (way down south) its small but you got alot of cool towns around it

edit: i just read where you said you go and i dont think its near me at all but idk im horrible with maps and direction

  6. They play this song at the end of the devils rejects. Such a great scene. That movie made me love this song.

  7. In Alabama there's a statewide "Lynyrd Skynyrd Day".

If you've ever been to a concert of theirs, then you know the classic line:

"What song is it ya'll wanna hear tonight?"

    crowd: "FREEEBIRD"

  8. free bird... words can not describe it. one of the best guitar solos ever.

  9. heres a word to describe it: overrated! ha. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE the song, but when people call it one of the best guitar solos ever... idk, i think most people say that cause you usually dont here a 5 minute solo on a studio album. Its just 2 guitars playing solos in a g minor pentatonic scale, sticking with a 1 basic position and moving their fingers really fast lol. Allman brothers: mountain jam, hendrix: machine gun. Live music's where the best guitar stuffs at. But as a song, freebird is fucking awesome.

  10. WHAT?! People don't say it is the best guitar solo ever just because its 5 minutes long. Its five minutes of two guitars playing two different solos and getting them to go together. It's like a guitar battle between some of the best guitar players on the planet. It's orgasmic just to think about. How anyone could say it is overrated is beyond me.

    :metal: Rock on.

  11. freebird and tuesdays gone are my fav. skynyrd tracks. Fuckin excellent!

  12. hah same here tuesdays gone is the shit

  13. You hafta know I'm playing it right now, Im inspired. Skynard rocks.

  14. Freebird = The Southern Stairway To Heaven

When people ask my what kind of music I like, my response is "Well, when I die, I want three songs played at my funeral... two of them are by Lynyrd Skynyrd."

  15. play free bird...:hello:

  16. x3...esp in dazed and confused
