Luke Wilson piece questions.

  1. So when I first joined this site I made a topic about high-end glass, since, I planned on picking one up for my birthday in March.

I really love Luke's work and I've heard nothing but good things about his work, specifically his tree and inline stems.

I've narrowed my selection down to three pieces, on another site. Basically what it comes down to is, what is going to give me the most bang for my buck, because obviously, high-end glass isn't inexpensive.

16 inch beaker with diffused 10 arm downstem and ice pinches, 260 dollars:

12 inch mini beaker 5 arm diffused downstem 10 arm tree perc 310 dollars:

14 inch mini inline to 8 arm tree perc, 290 dollars:

So which of those three is the best, in your opinion, and why? High-end guys, HALP MEH!!

The only other questions I have are, what would be the starting price range of a custom piece from Luke and how can I get in contact with him or his company if they're currently taking custom works.

All pieces are listed as 5mm thick, fyi.

  2. I would go with the first one personally, its just a more practical piece and thats what I like. The second and third are great if a lot of percs are your thing, not so much for me. They are all equally nice though so it's up to you and your smoking preferences.

  3. either the mini beaker or the mini inline. both of those are beasts. i don't like beakers much, but 10 arm percs and 5 arm downstems are sexy.

  4. agreed, ive been eying that for so long, its perfect for guys like me who dont like percs but wouldnt mind that extra filtration. a tree perc downstem is like, my dream. i always think about selling my tube and picking one up, but its probably not worth it.

  5. Luke charges a real premium for custom work. I imagine the perc'd inline with work would be over $600

  6. Get them all?

  7. Nah, I've got two other pieces already, I don't need that many. This will more than likely be my last piece of glass outside of some sort of dry pipe, since, I don't have one of those. I'm sort of looking for a metaphorical father figure for my glass family.

  8. get the mini beaker.

  9. i say get the 1st or 3rd one, mainly because i tihnk im gonna get that 10 arm mini with 5 arm diffusor...

  10. the beaker is just a gangster ass piece in itself it will deliver large clean highly defused hits
if they were all lined up I would grab it for time and efficiency.

the mini is my personal favorite right now I'm use'n it for about 80% of my toking, they sit just about a foot high very comfortable in the hand they deliver a extremely clean, smooth hit due to the multi percs (always insist on a defused stem and L.W. DDslide for best results) but due to the size it must be cleaned often I change the water out 2-3 times a
day requiring a wipe down on the stem with a paper towel and iso to prevent resin build up
in joint but then I smoke a lot.
The mini in-line is good or best for concentrates they do get dirty fast from smoking straight herb but if you clean often it's not a problem but if you don't clean often and smoke a lot
this would not be the best for you.

    hope that helps-

  11. im with this guy:)

  12. well after seeing that video of it in action by daslurk you better claim it before my financial aid check clears...

  13. seriously, thats a tube worth buying. if i didnt have a custom inline coming my way, i'd snag that quick as hell

  14. yea i didn;t think i was gonna buy it because i wasn't ready to shell out more cash for glass at this moment, but after seeing it in action, once that check clears i will be hopefully be a proud owner of luke wilson mini beaker...

  15. told you... that mini beaker is too dope....

  16. the beaker with the perc seems like a huge design flaw to me, because the perc arms have to be all facing straight down to function right, this can be achieved in a single chamber tube with a perc downstem by tilting, but not in the perc tube, you can't have both sets of perc arms facing down, sacrificing the diffusion of the bottom 2 arms.

    get the inline.

The inline still needs to be standing up to get a proper rip, the 16" beaker can be used at a more ergonomic/comfortable angle.

  18. yeah, the single chamber 16in beaker would be a great choice also. i just wouldnt get that 12in

10 arm tree, with 5 arm diffusor... go to 1:38 for milkshots... to me it looks like the bottom 2 arms are diffusing like they should, unfortunately i cant exactly see for sure... this video was posted by daslurk who is a media guy for luke wilsons glass company leisure glass

  20. I concur, the first is the best imo. That removeable perc is an invention making perc's fully functional. Something they have always been lacking, imho. The 2nd and 3rd are nice, but if something is not easily cleaned, it is not functional to me and not worth the premium...
