LST vs. SCROG

Discussion in 'Plant Training' started by peanutbutter420, Feb 1, 2011.

  1. Which one do you prefer, and why? Also which one do you think would result in a better yield? Cause im torn between which one to do in my upcoming grow. I've seen spectacular harvests off both, but i think itd be easier to manage my grow without a screen in there, ya know? By LST I mean tying down growth with plastic ties or whatever.

  2. I'm an LST boy myself... I find it takes a little more time to set up & you have to continually make changes to really get the best out of the technique, but I can really get my plants to make maximum use of the space. I also find it easier to deal with at the end of the grow! Just snip the fishing wire off, cut the bottom of the trunk and hang :)

  3. i do both :smoke:

  4. scrog is lst. Low Stress Training is any training you do without stressing the plant weather it is with a string tied to it or pushing it where you want it under a screen.

  5. i do both..i run scrogs and lst for outside..scrog delivers bigger yeild of mid sized buds...lst outdoors yeilds monster kolas a little faster..just my duece

  6. ive tryed both but kinda messed up. u can check my harvested grows in my sig. not the best but its what i went through trying to set it up so they would be short.

  7. As long as you have the space, they are pretty interchangeable. I prefer scrog only because the screen acts as a better guide for me to train my plants. Besides maybe topping once and some minor LST during veg, I just let the screen do the rest of the work as flowering begins.

But there are some bushy ass indicas that just aren't scrog material unless you enjoy a 3 month veg. I lst those kind

  8. Thanks for the replies everyone! It really helped out. I think i am going to go with LST because I think it suits my set up the best and seems a little more user-friendly for a beginner like me.
