Low temp oil distillation

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by playsfully, Jul 20, 2013.

  1. Let me know if there is a better forum to post this in.  I watched a video on making cannabis oil that didn't boil the weed in alcohol, they froze everything or got it all really cold and blended the weed in grain alcohol, filtered it, then distilled it by boiling off the alcohol.  It seems to me that boiling off the alcohol is going to destroy some of the chemistry of the oil, like boiling veggies does - so - would it be possible to just stir the alch/oil mixture till all of the alcohol evaporates (maybe heat it up to 150) and avoid boiling all together?

Does boiling THC break it down (harm it)?
