Lots of leaves and small buds

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Jerry11231, Apr 2, 2022.

  1. Hello, this is my first time growing I am using an aerogarden xl machine and am about 13 weeks into growing. My plants are big but I don't really see any bud formation just a lot of leaves. Was wondering if anyone could explain or help me understand why, and to help improve my grow experiences next time any feedback is welcome thank you!

  4. They aren't going to bud until you start giving them 12 hours of darkness each day.

  5. Agree with above. Looks like they are still in veg. They stay in veg until they get 12 hrs dark daily. Yours look like they are trying to go into flower, I'm guessing because they have been vegging for 13 weeks. Most veg for 5-8 weeks. 13 weeks in veg may give you gigantic plants that outgrow your grow area. On a side note the blurple lights will grow a plant, but there are much better lights available now for very reasonable prices. I don't think they even make blurples any more. Your gals look healthy and more than ready to go into flower. Give them 12 hours of uninterrupted dark and you should go right into flower within days.

  6. I’m guessing, you just recently switched to twelve twelve?.. I may be mistaken, but to me it looks like you vegged the heck out of a plant that may not have the adequate light to flower, what actual “wall draw wattage” is your led.

  7. Using that light to flower everything touching or below that line would need to come off

  8. looking like your light schedule is not right ,some of the top growth have single leaves ,like plant is re-vegging ..light should be 18hours light and 6hours dark for vegging and 12dark a 12 light for flowering ..mac,,

  13. Might want to cut down and top that plant a few times it's going to get huge over the next couple weeks if you just put them under 12/12

  14. I mean I cant be there and see the situation, but if you're going to flower it in that space with that light I'd probably just keep it in veg. Top it down about half way with a even canopy and lower light get a trellis net you can cut down to size and start training maybe flip in 3 wks taking everything under the trellis off prior to flip, everything not even with canopy getting direct light comes off after week 3 stretch in flower. My 2 cents. If you cant raise your light quite a bit that plants too tall to try and flower right there. The light isn't going to give you enough output for a good quality yield limiting the amount of bud sites and maximizing the direct light to those bud sites will provide the best outcome. With the lights penetration capabilities or lack there of is why you'll want to spread everything out, training. The height of which you're working with is why I would top. Good luck bud
