Lose Weight (Going to sleep high)?

Discussion in 'Cannabis Consumption Q&A & Tips' started by lilknicky, Sep 8, 2012.

  1. Hello I am 5'9" and am about 175 lbs. I am not super skinny but definitely am not fat. I workout play a sport and workout all the time.

I have always heard that if you go to sleep slightly hungry, your body eats your fat cells, helping to lose weight.

I know when you smoke it speeds up your metabolism. I was thinking if i started to get high right after dinner and go to bed high, will it help me lose weight?

I have difficulty losing weight even though I am not fat, I would like to be thinner.

    Thanks!

  2. I need to do the complete opposite.

  3. no it won't help you loose weight the way to loose weight is calories in vs calories out. you need to find out your bmr online and eat less calories than your body burns off. that is he way to loose weight.

  4. i eat pretty healthy, i try to cut out a lot of fats and sugars (try to limit to 40 sugars and 40 grams of fat a day) but it has always been hard for me to get thin. all of my friends are naturually skinny and can eat whatever they want but i constantly watch my diet.

I was hoping smoking and since it speeds up metabolism i could use that to help lose weight

  5. .... Just be in a caloric deficit and keep your carbs to a minimum lol.

  6. Yea makes sense, try it.

  7. i plan to continue healthy eating but i thought smoking might help... oh well.

  8. Weed actually helps you lose weight. There was a study conducted about this, I'd find you the link, but I'm too lazy.

Weed improves your metabolism. To be honest, it actually makes you a little too skinny imo. I wish I weighed a bit more, but whatever.

  9. wohoo! i was waiting for someone to confirm this. yeah trust me ive never been like a super thin dude so like it wont make me to skinny

  10. Technically speaking, yes you will lose weight.
The second you start eating again however, you'll gain that weight back again almost instantly.

  11. As stated above, if you want to lose weight eat less calories than you need to maintain your current weight. Whether it's 100 calories less a day or 500 just make sure it's not too low. That's really all there is to losing weight, people just want a way around that method lol.

  12. ganja has shown to increase BMR but not by very much. Thus it doesn't do much to help you lose weight. The best way to lose weight is by reducing the amount of calories u take in and increasing the amount of calories u burn. Also, your fats should mainly consist of unsaturated fats (mono and polyunsaturated fats) and your sugar is very high. Reduce your carb intake as carbs are broken down into glucose and stored by your body as glycogen, this with fats (although the average american tends to eat way to many carbs)
    leads to gaining weight.

  13. Ive been doing this as of recent and i can say it has definantly been working

almost certain this is impossible to do and a good way to make yourself ill....you actually don't burn that many calories when you exercise its something like and hours hard running for one mars bar....but im willing to be proven wrong

what i think you should do is like someone a few posts above me said eat like 500 calories fewer than you currently do....you dont have to be calorie deficent to lose weight just eat/exercise off fewer calories than you currently consume

Yeah i noticed when i wasn't smoking i would get bored through out the day and eat meals got a bit heavier and i noticed this in my stomach my chest area was starting to form everytime i stepped on the scale my weight was increasing and this was while i had a full time job even with some regular excercise I was still gaining weight. Now that i returned back to smoking ive lost weight, my belly has shrunk so its flat and my chest area has shrunk no man tittys forming. But thats because i smoke at night and in the morning. Now I notice that I skip breakfast in the morning do to not being hungry and I'm now just eat usually lunch and dinner. sometimes just dinner depending on my schedule. Smoking will decrease your size if you do it heavily for a week you'll notice the changes, heavy sweating during your sleep, waking up sweating. Your body is conjesting too much of the same chemicals (thc) so its trying to release it through sweat. It's a way of your body saying "stop smoking this much" your over medicating.

  16. yep, I am on a diet, I do cardio, fat burn, and weight lifting daily. I always smoke before bed to speed up my metabolism to digest my food quicker and burn more calories while sleeping. I also smoke before going to the gym too and I think it helps me work out more vigorously and possibly burn more fat

  17. Really, if you're into losing weight, you shouldn't need to lean on weed as a weight-loss instrument. It ruins the recreational aspect of it, plus your body will be ingesting too much THC. As long as you keep the right diet and exercise daily, you'll lose weight normally. P90x is a good program for getting fit, one of the only ones that works, in my opinion; it has both exercises to get you fit AND a healthy and varied nutrition guide.

My advise: keep exercise and smoking separate. If you're able to maintain a mindset that you want to be physically fit while you're sober, then your willpower will be stronger, and who knows what you can accomplish then? But by all means, after your workout hit up the bong and toke away, just don't try and use it as a dietary supplement. :]

  18. I am Barack Obama, and I approve this message...but seriously though. just eat healthy bro.
