Loooong flowering - need help - pics attached

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by kroosevelt, Sep 16, 2011.

  1. ok guys, so i've been flowering since june 29th (currently week 10)
    This is my first grow, and I, like everyone else want to know if its ready....
    i've done my homework, and i think i've followed through to the tee.
    I've posted before, (http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-ma...-attached.html) check me out if you all are interested

    i received the seeds from a friend who states it's white widow, however it may not be given the look
    I've fed my last 3/4 strength FF Tiger Bloom nutes on Monday and going to flush tomorrow, and the question is....... how much longer before the final chop

    i have purchased a 100x magnifying glass, but given my newbieness its still difficult to tell

    the plant is about 6-1/2 ft tall, and has colas all over.
    its being flowered by 1 - 400 watt hps lamp ( i know, not enough light for such a tall plant.. didn't intend this to be so large)
    It's about 77 degrees in the room, and the plant is about 2' away from the light

    At the beginning of flowering it did get too close to the light causing curling leaves, but I moved it. The leaves never got any better, nor worse

    so check me out and let me know what you all think.... Any advice will help.
    please!!

    I tried posting in another room but it seems that there isn't that much activity in there

  2. Yeah I'd say you're ready to keep it under 48-72 hours of darkness, and then you're ready to harvest! Plants are looking good.

    Thanks man. I posted this before in another room, and someone else told me 4weeks left!!??!!??!! I thought, no way but just ha to get more opinions.
    I know that all of the hairs are supposed to receed into the bud, so I guess it should still have a little time left, right? Only about 1/2 of the plant's hairs have receeded so far.

    Anybody else....
    Please advice is greatly appreciated

  4. The hairs won't necessarily receed. What you want to look for is when most if not all the hairs turn an amber color. (orange) You definitely don't have 4 weeks left. And the fan leaves with been yellow and wilting. Indicating the plant has taken the nutrients and energy out of the leaves and into the buds.

    Flush that for at least a week, the hairs are not necessarily an indicator of ripeness. Use that magnifier to check the trichomes. When they are cloudy instead of clear you are at the peak of ripeness. Some folk will go 50% cloudy 50 % amber. Personally I pull when they are about 5% clear, 5% amber and 90% cloudy.

    The difference
    cloudy = heady cerebral high
    amber = couch lock
    clear = not ready

    Also, I do not buy into the total dark period, no proof that does anything. Give it the things it wants until harvest (fresh air, water, light and love). :smoke: :bongin:

    Nice job btw, looks great!

  7. Thanks Man. i took a look and majority of my trichs are cloudy. im going to begin the flush tomorrow morning, and water again before i chop her next friday.

    thanks for the help and input
