If someone could let me know the basics. I'm looking to grow one to two plants on the larger size, i enjoy indica. So I'm in need of someone to let me know a universal veg and flowering light. And im probably going to be growing in soil so any suggestions on what type to use. Mainly just need those tips. I have distilled water. And i have a grow light already but mainly for like flowers... so i just need pointed in the right direction. If anyone could help i'd really appreciate it.
There is alot to keep in mind so it is better to just google any specific questions you have. But some basics: You should start off in soil, anything else is a bit complicated for a begginer. Go to a local garden store and look for Fox farms soil or any other organic soil mix. Avoid miracle gro because it is known to cause problems. You should have at least a 2 gallon pot per plant. Light: An excellent light for a beginner is a T5 light which you can get from HTGsupply.com, They give off very little heat and grow very well so you can focus more on the plant itself and learn, instead of focusing on potential issues like high temperatures etc. It's hard to recommend you a light because i don't know how much power you are willing to use, what your grow room/space size is, etc. but here is a good list T5 GROW LIGHTS | Fluorescent Grow Light-2-4-6-8-Lamp | BEST PRICES You generally want at least 100 watts of light per plant. HPS lighting is the best you can get for flowering but it raises alot of potential issues especially for begginers which is why i am recommending T5 lighting. (the T5 High output lights are the best. T5HO) When you are vegging the plant you want "daylight 6500k" lights and for flowering you want the "warm 2700k". Sometimes the lights come in others such as 3000k or whatever, but as long as it's close it will do fine. You can also mix the bulbs veg/flower. Also you will probably want to purchase a carbon filter/fan to remove all smell from the grow area and circulate the air. This is a good one. HTG Supply - A GrowBright 4" Inline Fan & Carbon Filter Combo The rest is pretty simple. An ideal veg period is 4 weeks, and then flowering usually takes around 8-10 weeks depending on the strain for indicas. attitude seeds is a very good place to order your seeds You can message me for more help if you would like.
First off. there is ALOT of material on the net about this stuff. but im gonna give you a quick and dirty summary. 1. you want a HID light preferebly a high pressure sodium. for flower 600w preferebly 2. vegetive state you need Cfl with 6500k spectrum or metal halide. 3. you need a way to circulate air 4. you need a way to filter the air else you can skip on 1. 2. and 3. carbon filter 5. you dont want soil with slow release fertilizers 6. eather you go the hippie natural route or industrial fertilizers. if you do ind. DO NOT overuse them 7. you need a light sealed room 8. you need and understanding of the plants needs and its light cycles. 9. you need 500$ Grow Weed Basics: How to Grow Marijuana Tutorial | Grow Weed Easy http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-m...door-gardening-without-bottled-nutrients.html This is for the hippie stuff

/\/\ Best answer here. In addition start with good genetics. Hps alone is more than sufficient for all stages. Use cfl for fresh cuts and sprouts. I personally use fox farm happy frog because of rooting additives and even npk. No need for fertilizers in veg as long as you have enough soil and proper ph. I use mild doses of bloom ferts in my grow.
This seems really informative thank you. I sent you a friend request, also to everyone else thank you for the valuable information. I am mainly prepping for when i move into my own place here in about 4 months. And i plan on having a 6x6 tent i think it is. So i am just getting all the needed supplies and making sure i have the knowledge to grow a good sized personal amount.
Thank you everyone it should be a 6x6 tent im getting i believe. Im preparing so that when i move out i can grow about two plants is what im thinking is reasonable and im just preparing with supplies and knowledge so i can hit the ground running. It helps that ill be majoring in botany
6x6 go with a raptor xxxl hood and 1000 if you want to utilize this tent to its potential. Better turn around growing many smaller plants. Better quality bud too.
Again thank you, i really prefer quality over quantity. Idk about your personal taste but i love a good smooth hit.
Start to finish 3-4 months from clone. Depending on strain. 30 days optimal veg condiitions produce monsters. Seeds take about 40 days to reach maturity.
I looked at the chem you are growing and let me tell you ... i am one jealous person lol it IS BEAUTIFUL. Can't wait till i move out. I wanna get this started.
yeah man if you want to go for an HPS it definitely is worth it. The yield will be much greater, but i was only recommending a T5 because they are great for begginers but even if you want to get an HPS for flowering, a T5 is excellent for vegging plants. Just be sure to read up a bit on HPS. Ventilation is must to keep temps down and for healthy plants of course.
I have a 5 week old clone of her that is nearing 4ft and 2 weeks into flower. The other clone off the same plant is little over 2 ft same number of nodes just refused to stretch.
T5s have their place in my clone/mother tent for sure. But for me the dont hold plants very long. Not enough penetration for my liking.
I can already tell you that now. Got a citrus & pine chemical smell. Taste is kind of organic compared to the scent. the scents come across in flavor too buut much more subtle. Very potent.
