Looking to make a Daily Checklist and data sheet for my Grows!

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Kitsunè, Nov 12, 2012.

  1. I am looking for help in creating a form of checklist.

I want to put said form on a clipboard inside the growroom. Once a day I want to check the grow and do everything on the checklist to make sure that my ladies are healthy and the grow is going well.

What I want from you, the experienced grower is input. What things should be on this at what week and are there things that I should check on during different weeks or months ect.

So please help me with putting it together. Once I get it together I will post the file for people to use themselves! Just looking for things to always check and if I have it on paper I will not forget to check something. And will give me quality time with my ladies during the day cycle.

Things that I have thought of that will be on the check list.

    1. Check Medium for problems.

    2. Check all equipment to make sure working. Lights, Hydro/Aero, pumps, exhaust fans, timers, leaks, all equipment for functionality. (make whole area of checklist just for equipment checks so can check off to make sure you dont miss)

    3. Check plant for insects, or problems. Once buds are noticeable check daily for molding or funky smell.

    4. Weeks in where sexing is possible checking for sex of plant

    5. If Hydro/Aero check the PH of the nutrient solution to make sure within range. record result

    6. Take note of temp and humidy rating in grow area. (record data)

    7. Check color of leaves looking for possible issues, record description

    8. Height, width (for multiple plants do an average) (Take this data weekly)

    9. Hydro/Aero make sure that there is proper water flow in proper places

    10. Notes area - make notes of ANY changes that you make of the room.

    11. During Budding period - Tricome color - how much amber %, record result

Ok that is all that I can think of to put on the checklist. Please help me think of other things to put on this checklist. And also when to start checking for it and at what frequency you should check it, daily weekly monthly?

OK Now that that is done. I am also looking to make a data sheet for the end. With this one total bud weight at harvest and total after cure. then I'm going to take the average of the height and width, and each bud average. Any input on what I should put on the end form?

  2. Twice Daily I check and record:
    (am/pm)

    PH
    TDS
    Grow Room Temp
    Relative Humidity
    Indoor Temp
    Outdoor Temp
Height of ONE specific Plant (to determine when stretch has started/ended etc)
How much water I have added to the res and what nutrients and additives.
    Comments

Much of this is not entirely necessary but you can learn a lot about controlling the environment in your grow room when you have all the variables and how they effect each other.

  3. Part of the idea is to experiment and have results to see cause and effect. The other is a reason to visit my ladies regularly and make sure I don't forget important things. Will be a way to keep on top of the grow. Thank you for the suggestions, always looking for more input

  4. What are some things that you check ALL the time on your grows? is there something that I have not mentioned in this thread? Is there something that I am missing?

  5. Dude, I check my ph and ppm everyday lol. Naturally I look at the plants to check for defects, but that's about it bro :)

Your list is extensive I can't think of anything else

  6. Sorry I am the data collecting guy.. Will really help when I introduce change into the grow cabinet I will be able to monitor change and what other grows have done so I can compare the data and try other things to increase productivity.

  7. Also check the water ppm, and water temperature along with the air temperature. You want water temp around 68

  8. Wow I hadn't even considered the water temp! Thanks man that's goin on the sheet lol, as well as I will probally put an aquarium heater on minimum in the resevoir.

  9. DO NOT PUT A HEATER IN YOUR RES!!!!!!

Heat is what creates pythium and root rot, you want temps around 62-68

  10. Have you considered the data for your lights? I put in distance of hood. I also put in the lumens when i check once a week. I also list the wattage. I use a dimmable ballast so i plan on running it on 300w and then increase to 400 and finally to 600. I have not completed a grow so i dont know if this will help but, sounds logical to me. Maybe the more experianced blades could tell you if this light data is necessary. :heavily smokin:

  11. hmm seems to me you have pretty much everything i can think of, but i am a newbie so it probly doesnt mean much haha. Im def interested in ur file that u post. Are u going to make an excel spread sheet or something similar to that?

  12. Thanks for the heads up on not putting a heater in the res. I was going to make sure that it didn't get below 60. I am just worried but now thinking the lights will probally keep everything in the grow at least that temp.

I don't have a variable with my lights, not at this time yet anyhow but I will see what I can do. I might get a light meter and take a reading at the top of the plants to see exactly how many they are getting and then a field for distance from lights might just work.

I will more than likely make a spread sheet in google documents and then share the link in this thread when it is done so that anyone interested can use it not just people with MS Excel. Google docs are free so people could open it when they want. Also I beleive that Excel will open the ending Google Doc file so we will see how it works out but yes I am definatly sharing it with the community.

  13. As promised here is the link to the spreadsheet that I made. It is still a work in progress but is functional. I just print one up for every week... Granted that will be like 12-16 sheets per grow but then I will have data to refence.

    Weekly Checklist
