  1. What's up my fellow blades. This Christmas I'm going to be asking for a longboard and to be honest I don't have a clue about them or any brands and all that. I love gc and all the members here so I need your advice, what kinda board should I get? Please be specific with brand and everything. I'm willing to pay up to $200. Happy tokeing blades and thanks.

  2. Sector 9

  3. Depends on what u want to do. Do u want to bomb hills? Or do tricks? Do u like carving? Most longboards are around 200 bucks. Do research so u dont buy a board and hate it. Loaded boards are prob the more famous brands. Sector 9 has a negativereputation, but i have a sector 9 and i love it to death.

Tricks arnt a concern for me I'll be heading off to college so it'll get the most use as a means of transportation and just riding it to relax. Yeah as soon as I get time today I'm going to check out sector 9. Thanks bro

Haha If I could skate I would! Anyone have reviews of these longboards I saw them at a store and they were beautiful called kahuna creations http://www.kahunacreations.com/longboards

  7. you can never go wrong with a landyahtz, look em up, not overpriced and great decks. Through some bear 152s on there and its good to go.

    #

  8. If I had the $ I'd buy a long board and bomb down the biggest hills in town.

Dudes do it all the time here with there helmet cams flying down the hills looks fun. but they run 200-250 sometimes more I seen one with a bottle opener for beer haha.

  9. Never heard of those, but my younger brother rides an arbor and he loves it.

Thery look pretty badass too... That hawaiian kona wood is fuckin pretty.

  10. Definitely dont get a S9. Look into Kracked Skulls if your looking for a quality board at a great price ;)

ive got quite a quiver haha original, palisades, landyachtz and a few others. landyachtz is one of my favorite brands overall but im looking into getting a bustin board. check out Silverfish Longboarding - The Longboard Skateboard Community a lot of very knowlegable people on there and are very willing to help you out

edit: my favorite board that i have right now is a landyachtz switch running bear 152`s on orangatang durians with some soft bushings and 1/4inch risers... i used it in the broadway bomb this year [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWARaHp6m3s"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWARaHp6m3s[/ame]

  14. get the BOnes Bearings they are the best :]

  15. With all due respect when I read this thread I thought it said "I'm blow poles". Wanting to buy a longboard says pretty much the same thing :D.

  16. What's up man, I'm a pretty experienced longboarder. I've been riding for about half my life now or more, and first thing I want to tell you is DON'T waste so much money on your first board. You'll probably end up #%$%ing it up by bailing, riding through puddles of water <-- BAD, etc.

You want your first board to be decent but not shitty, so don't blow your cash on a $300 complete until you get the hang of it and find out what your style is.
Watch some longboarding videos on youtube such as carving, sliding, freestyle, downhill, etc. to find out what you would think is your type of style.

Honestly if I were you I would buy one of those $50 completes that they sell at amazon and just buy a pair of good trucks which are around $40-60.

As you get better and realize that there are many things that can F you and your board up, you'll know exactly what type of wheels, trucks, deck, maybe gloves to get.
Treat your board well and it will treat you well!
