Looking for that super freak(genetic momma)?

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by Suger Wolf, Sep 28, 2011.

  1. Hey guys and gals.

I want to know about seeds.

How do you guys decide whats going to be your mother? I want to always have tangerine dream on deck so.... i want a mother, but I don't want just any tangerine dream. I want a super duper Tangerine dream mother. Is the strain stable enough to just buy six femenized and get the tangerine dream I want? Or is there going to be a decent genetic variety?

I know it depends with strain, but if anyone has experince with this can they give me insight.

How do u guys pic a mother for more than a 50 plants grow?(not that 50 matters just throwin it out there)

Another question: i have a super silver haze clone that in my garden right now. It happens to be the super freak of the 40 plants I have in my garden. For some reason its eight tall while after starting my plants in late (start of June) and everything else turned out four feet, (btw I only get 5 hrs of direct sunlight there right now if I could get more they'd all be 10 + tall :hello: )

My question is will there be much of a noticeable difference on the quality of the clones from a mother plant that I got from an already flowering plants? cause this super silver haze is da shit and I want to keep it for next years grow.

:smoke::smoke::smoke::smoke::smoke:i wrote this while super duper ooper:smoke::smoke::smoke::smoke:

  2. NO. tangerine dream is NOT stable enough for that. you need a hybrid with two parent of an In-Bred Line(IBL). That means each of the parents is an established and for the most part true breeding strain. This means that the offspring will have access to the dominant AND recessive genes of both parents , which gives more potential for genetic diversity. You pick a mother by growing out a whole pack of seeds.

Lets just say you bought a 15pack.
You would plant those seeds and veg them.
Notice traits you like in which plants.
Flower them and as you see which are male and which are female, clone the fems, chop the males.
grow the first set of females out and, since you labeled your clones, you have exact copies of the plants you just grew and smoked.

that was to the first half. to the other question. No, a clone from a flowering plant will end up no different than a clone from a vegging plant.
