what should I do?

  1. Continue use of Cannabis as long as side effects are tolerable.

  1. I am not new to Cannabis, but I am fairly new to having it in my system 24/7 for depression and pain, I’m six months in and I like it! It helps me and it got me off the horrible oxycodone for good! But things are starting to get a little weird now. I have lost over 60 pounds! No joke! I’m so skinny, I look anorexic and sick! I was told to lose weight because of my liver, cirrhosis of the Liver and I don’t even drink! ‍♂️ But, I didn’t even try!
I can’t go to the bathroom..... at all! Maybe once a week if I’m lucky...... where does all the food go??? It burns sometimes when I urinate and I have crazy nerve feelings in my lower back, around my digestive parts as well, around my left side coming around to the lower front. And sleep? Holy, what sleep? I can’t seem to shut down, when I used to put me to sleep ‍♂️
Will my body ever adjust to using Cannabis on a daily regimen? It totally works for me when there is NOTHING ELSE OUT THERE! I’ve been on Paxil since 1994, and I still can’t get off it. I am 47 years old and have dealt with health issues all my life, so this isn’t some kid that wants to party..... I take it just like any other medication, 3 x a day, and I am legitimately looking for someone with experience in this, since there is very little research able to be done before because it was illegal to gain access to even study ‍♂️.
I can’t find anything on the issues I’m having, and no one has ever died from Marijuana, but now it’s so much stronger and am I harming myself though, with having these side effects? They are bothersome, but not bad enough to quit because the good out weighs the bad, still, so I thought maybe I should bring my questions to a community forum on Marijuana, to see if anyone else has these issues and what can I do to continue to use it in my toolbox, so to speak.
Any help would be appreciated, if I have placed this thread in the wrong place, can a moderater move the thread to the correct area, please & thank you.

  2. The side effects you describe are very unlikely to be caused by MMJ.

There's something else going on. Either with your medication or outside factors. Have you talked to your doctor about this?

If you really can't sleep and losing weight while constantly constipated you should definitely consider getting a checkup, blood work and full review of your diet, lifestyle and any and all medication/supplements that you might be taking.

  3. Yes, i work close with her, seeing her again next week. Everything has been check and checked and rechecked..... More and more people are reporting craziness when you use Cannabis to much every single day, 24/7, and I know for a fact, non of this was happening 6 months ago. Her recommendation is to stop using Cannabis, which puts me back to square one with pain pills and I don’t want to, but there is no denying something is wrong here. I’ll just have to keep you up to date I guess. Thanks,
    see below:

    What is cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome?

Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS) is a condition that leads to repeated and severe bouts of vomiting. It is rare and only occurs in daily long-term users of marijuana.

  4. Now, I'm not a certified practitioner of medicine or anything, OP, but I do have a good amount of experience with cannabis and health.

The unmentionables since '94 made you gain those 60+lbs, guaranteed. MAJOR side-effect of all digestible pills is bloating and weight gain. Good thing about actual medicine is the THC binds to fat molecules and burns those unwanted cancerous cells. From your description here it sounds as if you have access to sativa-based weed, and that will amp up the metabolic rates of cardiovascular activity and respiratory health. This is why some people experience "anxiety" because of their elevated heart rates.

For your body to adjust to a daily regimen you will need to understand your strengths and weaknesses, and more importantly, have variety of cannabis if at all possible. All sativa all the time may make you an exercise fanatic, spontaneous home cleaner, over just an over-thinker. With indica-based strains you will be able to appreciate the down-time more and be less anxious in general.

That being said you should look into chakra-alignment and the level of vibrations you are prone to. For example, if you lean towards red, you might like SFV OG because of the spectrum of light that particular plant gives off. If purple is your vibe, GDP may be a good choice for you instead. Yellow to Lemon Kush, and so on and so forth. Knowing your own taste profile is important here as not all people will have the same preferences, and strain names are only as reliable as the source of grow.

From my understanding of effects, your experience leans on the red-based sativa strains, giving the racing thoughts like speed racer and excess energy to stretch towards the sun on overdrive. Less is more with these kinds of strains as the upper-effect can lead to restlessness and an overactive thought process. Hope this helps with your situation, OP!

  5. Thank you that makes a lot of sense actually. . . The kind (strain) I’ve been using lately is a newer one, so the reviews say, a hybrid of parents (Rockstar & Tuna) called Rockstar Tuna. Reviews say:
Rockstar Tuna, or Tuna Kush, is a new strain that’s been making big waves. A cross between the classic Rockstar and the heavyweight Tuna Kush, Rockstar Tuna is known for its high potency and intense high. While it’s a hybrid, the high, taste, and appearance manifest its indica lineage. Hailing from British Columbia, this strain has been making its way across North America, becoming more and more popular each day. For those looking for a knockout strain, Rockstar Tuna delivers a hell of a punch.
    High
For fans of great kush, the buzz provided by Rockstar Tuna is perfect. Right away, it comes floating in with dreamy, euphoric feelings that kush is known for. After a few minutes, the high continues to settle in, sinking into muscles while easing anxieties. It’s a dream-like high that’s rich and comfortable. Once the high starts to fade and the burnout creeps in, Rockstar Tuna really stands out. Unlike other heavyweight kush, the burnout is light, pleasant, and won’t leave you glued to the couch.

For medicinal purposes, Rockstar Tuna is an effective strain at managing pain, nausea, and other physical ailments. Its strong high can lower feelings of unease and discomfort, while the light burnout still leaves cognitive and motor functions in good shape.

    Taste and Smell
The buds are beautiful with long leaves, a mix of pale green and dark forest shades, and covered in a fine coating of crystal. To match its attractive appearance, the fragrance of the bud is wonderful -- clean, fresh, and with skunky undertones. Right away, from the visual appearance and smell, it’s clear that Rockstar Tuna has been bred with expert care and skill.

While the smoke is thick and heavy, it’s surprisingly easy to smoke and has a unique, memorable flavor. The first thing to notice is its skunky, earthy taste -- letting you know it’s a kush -- but is then chased with a clean, spicy aftertaste. The combination of indica and sativa genes really shines with its flavor, making this one familiar and different all at the same time.

    Pros
    • Very potent
    • Intense physical and psychological high
    • Low burnout
    • Unique flavor

    Cons
    • Relatively rare, but it is increasing in popularity
    • May be too intense for people new to cannabis

That’s all I know about the strain I have been using now for the last couple of months. I don’t know or have the knowledge you have about strains, any help choosing something or helping me understand would be very appreciated. I used to never be able to keep the same strain going for any longer than a week or two until about a year ago, when my doctor placed me with a steady company “MedReleaf.”
Anyway, if I could give you a list of what is available to me in my area (region), could you help make a selection based off your above stated theory? (I’d like to try what you’re talking about in your reply to my original post and I understand that no health benefits are being promised by you, it’s all suggestions and theory.
Please let me know asap and I’ll put together a list of available flower that I can get my hands on.)
    Blessings,
    Keith

  7. Good for you, for making positive changes in your health. :)

A few random thoughts, in no particular order.
    1. Maybe you are just taking too much? You could try tapering down to a smaller dosage.
    2. I missed where you mentioned your method of consumption. Maybe try a different method? If you are smoking, try vaping. Or if you are vaping, try edibles. Or if you are eating edibles, try suppositories. Or if you are taking suppositories, try a topical salve.
    3. One of the known side effects of cannabis is paranoia and anxiety. You mention Paxil, so maybe you've had depression or anxiety issues in the past? (Not prying, you don't have to answer.) So if your doctor has given you a full examination, found zero health problems, and given you a totally clean bill of health... maybe you are having a hypochondriac type reaction and imagining health problems that aren't really there? (I can't diagnose this for you, though, so please talk to your doctor, be VERY specific and let her know things like, you can't go to the bathroom, you can't sleep. She needs to know all those details to treat you effectively.)
    4. If your doctor's advice is to stop using cannabis, that is advice you should seriously consider. I am concerned by your statement, "which puts me back to square one with pain pills and I don’t want to." At the risk of sounding cold or unsympathetic to your chronic pain, what if you stopped or reduced your cannabis intake, but DON'T start taking pain pills again? Are you saying you are not in control of what you put into your body, and you absolutely cannot get through a single day of your life without taking drugs?
Anyway, food for thought. I am not a doctor so you should probably ignore my advice. ;)

  8. I think instead of asking us you should go see a Doctor!. Try drinking more water. I try to drink 80oz a day
Goodluck I hope everyting is ok.

  9. Reading the description of Rockstar Tuna it sounds like a heady type of kush providing top of the mountain energy and sometimes you need a different elevation. I would suggest looking for a strain called Trainwreck, as it has sedative properties that are very therapeutic and tranquilizing.

What i mentioned before about chakras, it seems like rockstar tuna might be in the red-purple type of vibe, so maybe if you rotate to a yellow strain like pineapple OG, or lemon kush you may be more well balanced. My suggestion if you try a blue strain is beware of the comedown. While the euphoria of Blue Dream is amazing, the brain tends to fall into depressive states when it's all done... Like that music video of J Cole "ATM."

If energy is your thing and you don't want the full sedative of heavy indicas, something like Sour Diesel could be your staple strain. It all takes time and adjustment, blade!

  10. Thanks everybody!

I believe the first step is to try cutting back, treat it specifically at strict times of 3 times a day, like an antibiotic, not just walk around with a little mini pipe in my pocket, to easily take a quick, convenient hit everytime the pain and depression kick hard. (Sorry, I’m being short on this reply, there is more I need to say to you all, so you can get a better picture of me and my situation, to help you make a more “educated decision,” on what you would do, if you were me. Make sense? I do work close with my Dr.’s, I have a few LOL and they ALL KNOW EVERYTHING, I promise, cause I want to be helped, ya know. But, at the same time, our physicians school of medicine holds our Dr.’s back on CORRECT IMFORMATION &/or NO INFORMATION, because of legality for decades (Ragen’s war on drugs in the 80’s), no one could even study the plant because of what it’s rank was on the American Narcotics Billboard ‍ (Yeah, we sell alcohol, inprison cannabis users to the point of overcrowding every cell in our country ‍)
Anyway, my son and wife want me to get moving on dinner LOL (sorry), but bare with me and I will finish this post to give you a better feel for me and my situation, because like I stated, our M. D. ‘S come out of school with the wrong information about cannabis (I believe), so nothing against them at all, but I trust other experienced older people more than I do a doctor when it comes to cannabis (e.g., use my dr. To give me a clean bill of health, or to prescribe me medication, but if she prescribes a medication, no matter what it is, I still look up experienced users of that specific drug, to glean a better understanding of how it effects the human body...... make sense?‍)

Thanks and more later, sorry I got busy, but I’m real and active, so if you have advice, please think about sharing it with me and if I use your advice, I definitely will post about it and keep up with it for a while, to share to others needing help.

    Oh

Right now my method of using cannabis is smoking it. I do have a PAX II hand held vaporizer, vape just sucks (my opinion),
I can get oil for under the tongue use, or capsules for an edible effect (have both in my medicine cabinet as I speak, they both state they do not have an expiration date, and mine are 4 months old, I just prefer flower smoked. ‍ What can I say? I have a feeling that’s going to change LOL ‍

    Write back soon

P.P.S. I’ve been on Paxil since 1994! ‍♂️ No joke, for severe panic attacks, agoraphobia (how bad it got), told me to take the paxil and xanax for 6 weeks, after six weeks the paxil will be in your system and we will taper you off the Xanax at that time. Paxil has no dependence, you are safe (yeah, right ‍♂️, last time I ever listened to a Dr. Without checking the damn facts MYSELF! And the LAST TIME I ever take ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING, from a Dr., without researching it myself and listening to other real humans that are currently using the same medication, to get the real facts about it, and it’s worked out much better for me since I began.

  12. Weed does accelerate your metabolism by a lot. It can also cause anxiety/panic attacks for people. Best to stay away from caffeine if you are going to smoke.

  13. I have some similar problems that you have and I found that using a vape cartridge of indica, don’t know what strain it is, works best for me for anxiety depression and pain!

  14. With your liver disease, you should be having three (3) bowel movements per day. This helps your body to rid itself of the toxins your liver is no longer able to. Your doc can prescribe Lactulose or Xifaxin (Zy-fac-sin)

  15. I’ve been to my doctor (is in my first post, I have a M. D. Who I see every month! I have a Methadone Dr. I see every week for the past 3 1/2 years weening me off those horrible pain pills , I have a mental health counsellor I see on a bye weekly basis, I have a cardiologist waiting to do another angiogram, I have diabetic specialist and wound care professionals and THEY ALL KNOW EVERYTHING I DO, NO LIE, I’m not 17 looking for a high you know, I seriously want to know what’s up and intend to do whatever I am supposed to do. Hopefully I won’t have to explain this part to many more times....)
Cannabis has been the best answer we (me and all those Dr.’s I’ve listed) have come up with, but like I stated in my next reply, I believe our own doctors are behind on cannabis beacuse the school of medicine wasn’t even teaching them about it before, on and on and on, re read my 2nd reply man, I can’t type it all out again each time someone replied to me and I’m not savy with computers to know how to quote and move text here and there, sorry). So, I am here to learn from other cannabis users who are older and use it for medical reasons or have experience in medical reasons, because if you’re just a weekend stoner, you’ll have no clue about the effects I am talking about, but if you use it everyday 24/7 in your system with 3 doses a day...... it becomes a whole different animal, you don’t get the “munchies,” like on TV, hell, you don’t even want to eat. Sometimes, I’ll feel that again, but for the most part, that stuff is gone etc. etc. etc. there are different effects depending on how you use, how often you use, how much you use each time. Just ask anybody that has legitimately used cannabis as a medication (keeping a regimen 3 x a day 365 days a year) they’ll tell you so, or they’re lying about how much they use.

  16. Yes! Thanks for the reminder! I have a big bottle of that laculos stuff I need to get back on. I’ve been using “PEG” same idea, moves water into your bowls, but I need to get serious about water intake and make myself drink it all day long I think. As well as slowing down my sessions a bit as well, eating better etc. etc. etc.

  17. Thanks!

  18. Thanks! I to tend to stick to Indicas, but using a hybrid at the moment, they say it’s rather new, but I’m very familiar with the parents (Rockstar Tuna), the Tuna is a pretty good Indica I believe. I posted a list on here for another guy, showing what was available to me in my area, hoping to gain some insight into what I should try next and/or how to pick out 2-3 to use in combination throughout the day, depending on situations, instead of only one strain all the time (make sense) and teach me how to rotate different kinds in and out throughout the year, to help cannabis work even better for my specific needs and to understand how cannabis works.

  19. I guess my main point of my post was have tried a vape cartridge? The thc concentration is very high bd may benefit you more.
