looking for some good rap

    well, Ive never really listened to any rap, and I hate sellout shit. so does anybody have any suggestions for some GOOD rap? Not shit thats gangsta, trying to intimidate each other and all that.. I'm looking for some rap with meaning. and dont say tupac.

    sorry for the shitty grammar.. words are not my friend atm.

    oh and I like instruments. Not just a basic beat and a guy rapping

    I asked my friends the same thing a while back and this is what they recomended basically. Haven't checked them all out yet but so far most of them have been really good.

    Stones Throw - Ok lyricists but really good beats by Madlib Oh No and J dilla
    Def Jux - Really good lyricists, harsh beats and real paranoid out look
    Rhymesayers - Good midwest wrap, more personal and less crazy than the other labels
    Nature Sounds - the most gangster/straightforward of the labels

    then Wu-Tang Clan are critical to all smoke sessions, along with RZA and GZA solo albums
