I was on this forum a couple of months ago and came across a recipe for an easy organic grow. I wrote down the items that I needed but not the ratios. Can someone in here repost the post. Cant remember the name of the person. Here is the list of ingredients that I have: Spagnum peat moss Rock dust Kelp Meal Lime Dr earth fertilizer Pearlite Thanks Sent from my SM-G920V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
You will need a couple more things, more importantly you will need compost to make your base soil with. I don't know which recipe specifically you are thinking of but you can look at the no-till recipe which many of us here use successfully. No-Till soil mix: For the base mix Equal parts: CSPM (Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss) Aeration (Pumice/Lava rock) Compost - Quality is key here. Then amend per CFt with: 1/2 - 1 cup Neem or Karanja meal 1/2 - 1 cup Kelp meal 1/2 - 1 cup Crab/Crustacean meal 1 cup MBP (Malted Barley Powder) 1/2 cup Gypsum (nice sulphur source) 4-6 cups Rock Dust (Basalt is best but any will do) 6-8 cups Biochar 1 cup lime (oyster shell flower, dolomite...)
Here’s my current mix, I started with the base no-till mix mentioned above and over the years I’ve changed it up a little. 1 cu.ft. (7.5gals) Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss. (Hydrated) 1 cu.ft. (7.5gal) Earthworm Castings 8.5gals Horticulture Perilite 2 gals Bio-Char (RAW, uncharged) 1 cup Alfalfa meal 1 cup Comfrey meal (homemade) 2 cups Kelp meal 2 cups Crab meal 2 cups 50/50 Neem/Karanja meal 2 cups Oyster Shell Flour 1 cup Gypsum Pellets 3 cups Balsalt Rock Dust 1 cup St. George’s Black rock dust. Let this cook for a month before use. “You are unlimited!” Prepper420’s No-Tillin Adventure!
Question . Can I use a blend of Calcitic and Dolimite Lime for the lime amendment? Sent from my SM-G920V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
