Looking for a strain to help with suboxone withdrawals?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by chookie, Dec 5, 2010.

  1. My mom is has been going through suboxone withdrawals for a while now and she can't find the right strain to help her and I was wondering if you guys had any ideas. Her symptoms are: The chills, anxiety, anxious chills. She wants something calming but that won't put her to sleep. She has a mmj card by the way.

  2. I think an indica dominate strain should do. Nothing to potent, mid grade maybe.

A 60/40 mix should give relief and give a bit of emotional 'lift' without increasing anxiety...just my opinion:D

  3. cball said what i would have said.

something with a high CBD level. i think i read a study about strains high in CBD helping more with withdrawls.

I'm a former addict and i know my fair share about withdrawls and i also have been on and off suboxone. what mg subs was she on? and how did she taper off?

  4. I my self is on suboxone, so is my dad I have been on it for over 2 years and I take 8mg a day. I take 4mg in the morning and 4mg in the afternoon. I normally get all those symptoms and more but I have my MMJ card too. So I try and find strains that help more then others. I have found a strain 2 days ago that helps more then any I have ever had, it's perma-frost x tropa- berry and it works very very well. The taste is amazing, you get a slight tropical taste on inhale and a sweet berry taste on exhale. It gives you the relaxation you need without making you to tired that you fall asleep everywhere. Another thing to do that a person on GC told me to try that works very well is to eat edibles and take some vitamin D and that works very well when your having a bad day with a lot of symptoms kicking in hard. My doc don't want me to get off of suboxone just yet but I have tried and I know I could. The only problem with suboxone is that it helps with many different conditions that have been caused by your addiction that a lot of the time when you get off you will have to get a pill for everything. Which would suck to get off one drug to get on 5 or so. I think I would have to get on a antidepressant, sleep aid, apatite builder and a anti anxiety if I where to get off. Suboxone also helps with normal daily pain, which sucks to get off and feel the pain in places you normal don't feel especially when your feeling all the withdrawal symptoms. Email me at benrasmussen182@gmail.com if you want to talk about the tips and tricks with easing the side effects and withdrawal symptoms, and we could exchange all the ways we have found to help, cuz I have found a lot and a lot that work better then others. Thanks and I hope you find find a way to help out your moms symptoms. Nothing fills better then to have your friends and family on your side helping.
