im lookin for some bands similar to wookiefoot, the flaming lips, the expendables, soldiers of jah army. just some jam bands, psychedelic, reggae kinda stuff. nothing really electronic/techno, dont need any hip hop or rap. or metal, so please dont post about artists in those genres. i have plenty of those for now, just need some new tunes for chilling any reccomendations?
Hey crazylegs, I just put this indie playlist / flash player together... you can CHECK IT OUT HERE Not really any traditional "jam bands" and there's a little bit of electro infused stuff, which I know you said you don't want to hear... But there's also some chillin hippie type stuff like Fleet Foxes, and a ton of eclectic relatively new music. (Mostly 2007 - 2009) If you take a minute to browse the playlist I think there's a chance you may find something new... that you like. Maybe not, but just thought I'd take a stab at helpin you out. I second that. Rodriguez is the shit. Unbelievable he never took off in the states. I'm a huge Flaming Lips fan dude. What era do you like? If you're into their punk era (1986-1990) you should be listening to The Butthole Surfers and Ween. If you're into their grunge era (1993-1997) you should be listening to Acid Mothers Temple or The Boredoms. If you're into their pop era (1999-2007) you should listen to MGMT or Black Moth Super Rainbow. If you're into their latest album that just came out yesterday, you should be listening to Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Faust, Neu, Can, or Amon Duul. There new shit is CRAZY!
