Lollipop Question

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by bombsaway, Nov 11, 2020.

  1. Just made my first batch of lollipops using tincture that I made with 2g of shatter. After completing the process, I'm left wondering something.

My lollipops aren't exactly hard. I read that this is due to excess moisture. I added my tincture at 260°, and it immediately boiled, and continued boiling. I didn't think there would be enough moisture left from the everclear to affect the lollipops, but is that maybe what's happening? I used approx. 2 tbsp of everclear to make my tincture. I didn't know how much shatter I could dissolve in 1 TBSP of everclear, and didn't want to lose any potency.

  2. I can’t answer your question but @PsychedelicSam will surely do.
Did you added the tincture at 260F or C? Of course I guess it’s F, but just to be sure. I think the end result depends on the recept you use - the tincture evaporates, leaving only the active material behind, so the impact on how soft its your product will be minimal (I THINK).

Try blowing a fan on a lollipop for several hours to see whether that helps.

  4. This is why we recommend people do a test run without the cannabis. Do everything else just leave out the Herb. Then if it fails your not scrambling to find a way to use a failed recipe.

Mostly People use store lollipops and drip a few drops of 190 proof tincture on them and let it dry. Not being the cook in the house I can't give you first person advice but I always check with the wife as she is a master chef.

Her advice was the same. Make the pops and drip tincture on them after they are made. Adding the tincture to the molten pops changed the recipe and even very minor changes can foul a recipe and prevent them from hardening up like they should.
