Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Oldmain, Dec 5, 2022.

  1. When making edibles from concentrates….is live resin worth the xtra money.
    Anyone have experienced comparison?
    Is the high different…better

Here are some nice live resins
Only way to enjoy the flavor is to vape them

    Use distillate for your edibles
    Cheaper and no taste
The taste that's in your resin will be lost in any edible you make
The terp sauces are delicate and get muddled easy

  3. The edible stone is generally very predictably the same regardless of the strain used. When your Liver converts the Delta-9-THC into the far stronger 11-Hydroxy-THC most of the lesser Cannabinoids are left behind as they don't change so your ratio of Psychoactive to inactive has jumped 500% leaving the CBD, CBN and the rest at unconverted levels. The terps generally cook off to a fair degree in the decarb however Some like my dry ice Kief-Hash retain a good amount of smell post decarb

If processed with a neutral odorless and tasteless oil like refined Coconut oil then the delicate taste of the Cannabis extracts do shine through. I routinely let my Hash capsules melt in my mouth like candy because they are just so damn tasty.

Stainless steel cat food dishes fit my Mr. coffee mug warmer. It keeps the Coconut oil warm and flowing well.

LouAna Coconut oil has zero smell or taste.

The basic recipe comes from BadKat here on the City.

Decarb 240 F for 40 minutes (as needed)
    5 grams Hash-Kief or Concentrate.
    1 tablespoon Coconut oil
    1/2 teaspoon Lecithin.
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
Freeze (optional removes sandy mouth feel from Hash)
Heat 220 F for 20 minutes (optional see above)
    Done.

    Finished oil
    Buds 1 drop = 1mg
    Kief-Hash 1 drop = 3mg of THC
    Concentrates 1 drop = 6mg THC

You can shrink the recipe for making smaller batches and still stay close to the strength per drop range.
    2 gram Cannabis = 1 teaspoon Oil
    1 gram = 1/2 teaspoon Oil
Lecithin aim for 20% the oil volume.

Lecithin acts to improve bioavailability making better use of a smaller dose. Like a supercharger it doubles the bang and increases the duration substantially as well. I won't make edible oil without it now.
