How do, So 1st time grower current set up is as follows: 250W Dualspectrum CFL 5Litre pots with 20-20-20 soil Growing 2 AF Gnomo's and 1 AF BerryRyder (pictures below) About 5 days into grow. So in my prep to do what I believe would help my plants I put around a tablespoon of Miracle-Gro Slow Release nute balls into my medium before starting the grow. Since that time I've heard that a lot of people have problems with MG especially with nuteburn (which I am led to believe AF's are especially sensitive to). My question is would I be best repotting the ladies now or just watching my watering schedule and not using any future nutes? EDIT - http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/garde...urpose-Plant-Food-1kg-10777782?skuId=11268368 The stuff in question...
Apologies for the shameless self bump... I'm looking to get these changed tonight if at all, perhaps into fresh soil or at least the soil mixed in with fresh to decrease the slow release nute density, any suggestions? Ta!
Mg with slow release nutes is great in takes a lot of work out of growing your plants, people always goin to dislike somthing but you have to go with what works best for you, if u listen to people on here, they would make you think growing is complicated and the hardest thing n the world to do( its easy) only thing you have to know that plants dont like water but they need it , in if you think that you'll never over water them . Some people can grow in certain soils better then others but that don't mean the soil u don't like is all bad, the next person might love it in hate the soil you love.heres pics of my plants using mg
You just have to go easy on miracle grow. I would hold off on transplanting until its older unless it shows signs of an issue. You need perlite in that soil when you transplant it won't have good drainage as is.

Basically didnt have to feed for veg at all, just water. They didnt get as deep of green as i usually see, but once i went into to flower they took the tiger bloom likes champs. Im into week 5 now. And yes perlite is def a good idea.
Yeah I'm a first time grower myself but I started 5 seedlings at different times originally using miracle grow on 2 until I got fox farms ocean forest and happy frog and a bag of perlite. I made a nice mix now that is almost impossible to overwater with because it has good drainage and my most recent seedlings are doing excellent. I used a real real light treatment of fox farm big bloom nutes when I first planted it, because I heard it helps the seedling take off faster and the two I did it two are the ones doing the best. OP Make sure you be careful with the watering with that soil mix, it will probably take a while to dry out.
Thanks all for the quick response. Out of interest I think I'll repot one of the Gnomos and leave the other two. Ill let you all know how they end up and if I actually see any detriment. Agree with the watering schedule. Will make sure there is 2-3 inch dry depth before giving it anymore - that seem ok? The grows on MG look sweet. Fingers crosse I can replicate some of that success.
Yeah 2-3 inches. And the pot should feel light whe you pick it up. I sometimes wait for them to droop.
Okay great. I'm guessing its a matter of willpower not to interfere more than the complexity of actually growing!!!!
Growing is easy like others have said! If this is your first time growing though i would not go with MG. spend 10 more bucks and get a better soil. The problem i have seen with MG is the ph is slowly lowered in the soil. So you would have to consistently use higher ph water to get the right ph. Personally i think there are way better options than mg for slightly more money. Hell ive seen guys on here grow in straight perilite so possibilities are endless but i do think there are far better mediums to be had then MG.

Ive gotten great results cutting in a little mg and perlite. The mg has time release nutes that last. I dont have to worry about N deficiency during flower at all.
Best advice I got about watering LITFA leave it the fuck alone. I go about a day and a half now off weight of the pot and they have been doing great. Just one is weird because the miracle grow I had to buy was way to hot, it was some sort of seedling mix so I had to transplant it and that shocked it.
