Lines in pictures of your grow room?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by JoeCamelGreens, Oct 17, 2011.

  1. I've noticed that lots of people have lines. A simple way to avoid this is by holding the camera a bit higher than where your aiming and tilting the camera down from the light. Also if you can set your camera on the dawn setting and it helps eliminate the yellow light. Give it a shot n let me know if this helped.

  2. I'll definitely give it a try cause no matter what angle i try it still has lines. I thought it might just be the type of hps bulb im using. I'll try the dawn setting tomorrow and let you know.

  3. My camera phone has the lines no matter what unless its within a minute of the light starting up. Another thing I've heard is to put sunglasses over the lens and take pictures, but that didn't work either with my camera phone.

I have a 1000w set up and I have taken some decent pictures with just my phone. I think the linest have to do more with the angle you hold the camera than anything.

These are some I took all are from the same camera the yellow one was left on auto and the others were on the dawn setting.

  6. It's caused from the cycling of magnetic ballasts. Digital ballasts don't have any lines in pictures. I heard you can use sunglasses (might have to be polarized) over the lens and that will work also. I've never tried it though.

  7. My camera phone pics up the lines no matter what I do. my regular digital camera never picks them up though. Better lens setup I suppose, even though the digital is actually a lower mp camera than my phone.
