Limp Stem!

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by dstcookie18, Apr 29, 2009.

  1. This is my first growing experience, and everything was going great up until yesterday. My seedling was healthy, stern and green. Then, I noticed that the stem became weak toward the base, and the plant bent right over. Then I looked this morning, and the stem is so weak and limb that it just kinda lays there, looking pitiful. It won't sit up AT ALL anymore, and Im worried that its done for. Can anyone give me any tips on what I should do next or what my problem might be so I can try to save my plant. Thank you.

  2. give it some viagra... thats what i do when my stem is limp.... hahaha

but seriously try puttin a long stick of wood into the dirt and tying the stem to it as an additional support... make sure you always have an oscillating fan blowing on the stem as this strengthens it...

  3. Did you recently water? Do you run ur lights 24/0? What type of soil r u using?

  4. lol well i don't know about the viagra lol but, i just went to get some toothpicks to prop my plant up, and i placed a fan by it.

to the second reply, i water them usually once a day, or as needed. i am using organic soil. as for light, i am using natural light for now until they are big enough to be recognized, then i will use artificial light. but now that you say something, i think the street lights still shine at night, so that may have something to do with it.

also, i noticed a tiny red spider-like bug in one of my pots. what are they and are they harmful to my plants? and if so, what should i do? i'm trying not to use any pesticides...it doesn't make sense to me to use chemicals on something i will be smoking later...

  5. get some neem oil... natural way to get rid of bug... they might be mites...

  6. Try mixing some detergent and water and spraying the solution on the plant
