Day 9. Seem to be growing slowly and the other day inner leaves changed into a yellow/green and not sure why. I know fast growing plants can show that at first but doesn’t seem like the issue. Temp 79-80F, humidity 75-80%. 120 watts 24 inches from plants. Don’t mind the middle one it’s new.
what is the pH of the water you feed? what is the pH of the runoff? Keep these numbers ~6.25. If this doesn't clear up, add some calmag solution (2mL/4L).
Been watering with a pH of 6.5 and haven’t checked the ph of the run off yet. I’ll check next time I water. Would epsom salts help? I’m using “buildasoil 3.0” which has everything you could think of in it.
They don't look bad. I don't think adding anything would help it. You are growing organics? I'm not really an organic grower. If you are using a hot mix, like already everything in there, it should be fine, unless you're adding hard tap water could really accumulate a lot of lime and throw the pH out, but seedlings don't really like hot mixes; it's more for when they mature. Not organics, but I usually start my seedlings with water, then a lil bit a nutes, then more, then more, etc. Your way already has everything in there, so seedlings might take a lil longer to adjust. Be patient, like I said, they don't look bad, just a touch of iron deficiency is all (if at all).
Yea I wanted a lighter soil for the beginning but went with what I already had because I’ve been seeing it work out fine for other ppl going right into the good stuff. And yes I think you’re right that it’s an iron deficiency. I used ph down in my filtered water and I’ve realized that the water in my gallon sprayer has risen back up to 7.0 over the course of a few days. Guess I have to check it constantly. Too high of ph causes iron problems like u said and I can barely get enough water from this little cups to measure the pH of the runoff don’t wanna over water. Guess I’ll be going in with water with a pH of 6.2 to try to fix it? All I’ve heard is that a living soil should be able to adjust the ph on its own for the most part and the water doesn’t matter much but lookin like that’s my issue. Thanks bro
I'd suggest that you stop watering for a while. Lift your pots and let them dry out until they are very light. The microbes in organic medium don't have the capacity to make large changes in soil pH. Having said that, watering with high pH water caused from high bicarbonates takes longer than those plants will live in those pots to impact them in any way. I believe you're simply watering too often for the plant size. When you do water again, water to the very outside of your medium to encourage the plants roots to grow outward. Bigger roots can uptake more water and quickly increase your vegetative growth.
Yea I’ve been thinking I’ve been over watering all this time, but still cave to watering afraid they will dry out completely. Gotta realize these little guys need barely any water lol thanks man
120 watt true led 24 above . full power . there is a problem friends . dim it to 25 % in this stage You may of or not seen me do insane stuff to plants . I feed them full amount of nutrients . You know they do not need zero added nutrients in this stage in soil. so what is causing the lime green . ??? Interesting . Dim the light i bet a dollar the color improves in a week or so .
